Khan should win by accidental headbutt, this fight was a re-run of the Barrera result.

I like Fury, but I'd respect the doctor's decision 100%.

I guess we'll just have to wait for some kind of statement from the doc as to whether McCloskey wanted out.

What alarmed me is that the doctor seemed to be waving it off before he even wiped it to see how deep it was. My original response was bad cut - seeing him in the interview after, it looked like a nothing cut.

I always like to edge on the side of caution, so can see what Keithmoonhangover is saying. However, lets not kid ourselves and say there have been some incompetent Doctors and officials out there. Look at Khan vs Barrera, how that went beyond the first round is beyond me! Conversely we can say how can the Dr stop the fight without even wiping the cut to see the rate its bleeding and properly assess its depth.

I believe everyone can make errors. Judges and refs are highly trained and experienced as well, yet they eff up all the time, as any boxing fan should know. I don't believe it is any different when it comes to the doctors. Khan was the house fighter and they get all the advantages. I don't think for one second that the fight would have been stopped if Khan had suffered the same cut and was down on the cards.

Barry Hearn (McCLoskey's Promoter) saying his fighter has "7 stitches" only. Not alot compared to some fighter injuries of the past. He seems to have a point.

Fecking garbage stoppage, it was a hairline cut on the brow where it meets the nose.
That doctor should stay out of the fight game he aint got the stomach for it.
I was watching Curry/Jones earlier today now that was a cut worthy of a stoppage like the grand canyon in his nose.

Like I said, I haven't seen it, but all I heard was that he should have been allowed to let his team work on it at least once. Shocking really when you think of the cuts Ricky Hatton fought through in the MEN.

When you see it you might agree or you might not. The worst feeling for me as a boxing fan is seeing a guy lying motionless on the floor and everyone with thier fingers crossed, hoping he gets up and doesn't go into a coma.

I;m not saying that was going to happen, but the possibility of it happening is increased greatly by letting some one fight with blood running into one eye.

Can't remember exactly what was said but it sounded like Khan was talking about a poor sparring partner the way he was going on about McCloskey.

I agree. It would have been a far less controversial stoppage than this one if Khan was stopped against Maidana.

Khan needs to think a bit harder before he talks about fighters needing protecting.
