Cant argue with that. Frampton seems very similar in that sense.
I think there are egos involved on both sides that will have to back down. McGuigan and Gallagher are the egos I'm alluding to. Gallagher will have to appreciate that Frampton sells thousands more tickets, McGuigan has to appreciate Matchroom and Quigg bring Sky and Box office which generates shitloads of money. I hope McGuigan does not have issue with the 2 fight plan, 1 at the MEN and 1 at that big arena in Belfast. Ultimately that arena in Belfast is not viable for a fight in February and the Odyssey is nowhere near big enough an arena.

What did you think before?
Frampton by clear decision.

But Quigg is a strong, strong fighter, maybe he will make it closer than that.
How can you judge Quigg from that and think he is better after tonight?

If Quigg fights like that v Frampton, its over before the 6th

The clamour to throw people in with this guy is funny, though.

I believe the best should fight the best but when the best is that good, and that unmarketable it's a silly fight to take.
Yeah I wont argue with that. If I was in his position I wouldnt be overly keen.
If they could earn huge money by fighting Rigo everyone would be clamouring for it. You see in the welterweights everyone wants to fight Mayweather and Pacman because they will earn a ton doing it.

Yep. And a loss to those kind of fighters doesn't hurt your career.

Yeah the whole risk/reward argument which does hold weight.

2 fight plan is a huge block to the fight happening, they're just trying to guarantee Quigg a double payday because they know he gets beat. Why should Frampton go on the road to beat Quigg, then have to do it at home a few months later? Belfast in June, build a bigger arena, 80-20 split, IBF title, get it on terrestrial TV and we all watch Frampton take Quigg apart.

Quigg's worth more than 20%.

God, dont ask Halling for his opinion. It's like asking a blind man to judge a wet T-shirt contest.

I'd like to see Quigg have a defense against Martinez next if he cant get Frampton in the ring for his next fight. See how he deals with Kiko.

He brings nothing to the table, no title, no support and he's not a big name. Frampton brings the money, he should get the biggest cut.

Should the WBA regular belt not be treated more as a number one challenger belt? Meaning if you win it you have to fight the super champ within X amount of weeks, whoever doesn't want the fight vacate the belt.

If Frampton ends up having to fight Avalos first then Santa Cruz and Martinez would be the only acceptable opponents that I can think Quigg taking in the interim. I'm obviously not mentioning Rigo as we have debated why that won't happen yet.

Staggering ignorance and naivety yet again. He brings Sky TV and thus box office.

That's what it's supposed to be but Klitschko-Povetkin is the only time I can remember it happening. Personally I don't recognise it as a title, completely worthless and shouldn't be sanctioned. If Quigg isn't going to fight Frampton next he should fight Galahad for the European title.

Quigg does bring a title and he does bring a lot of money. 20% is less than he deserves.

The fight is only box office here in Ireland. 2 decent lads will not sell it on boxing skills.

I dont think 60-40 in Framptons favour would be too big an ask myself.

Sky TV is not the be all and end all, and Frampton could get his own deal with them, or any other channel that's willing to show boxing, Matchroom have the TV deal, not Quigg anyway and they shouldn't be involved in the fight, Frampton choosing to make a voluntary defence against Quigg doesn't mean they're required to co promote.

I wouldn't want to see the fight on Sky anyway, shite, biased coverage and a complete rip off, allegedly or a terrestrial channel wherever possible for me.

Frampton calls the shots. He sells the tickets, he has the name, hes a real champions (not a glorified interim champions), as for Hearn bringing the broadcaster, so what? allegedly could broadcast the fight, not saying they will but sky is not the only option, even primetime who had hattons comeback are an option, its not case of sky or no fight like hearn thinks. I think a 70-30 or even 65-35 split is fair. Quigg really does not bring anything to the table compared to Frampton. The place was dead tonight, Quigg sells out leisure centres, Frampton sells out stadiums. Hearn needs to swallow his ego and settle for the shorter end of the stick. And that includes no rematch clause.

ha ha ha, what an absolute can Jamoye was.

Quigg took too many punches, even one of those punches from Frampton would send him out on a stretcher :bag:

Have allegedly considered doing PPV for certain fights so that they could put on the really big events or because it's a subscription boxing channel already, it's not feasible?

Frampton beats Quigg but seems a few here are overstating Carl's ability and name somewhat.
Frampton brings the big numbers and a real belt. He only brings the big numbers in his hometown and as for his belt, well, as much as I like Martinez, Munroe dealt with him years ago, and that whole fight was geared towards Frampton winning.

Quigg will earn well at matchroom and be in the mix for other decent fights with them eventually, with or without Carl.

I wouldn't mind seeing it but it's not a real must see fight for me. Both are overrated. Both nice chaps so if they do fight I hope they both get paid well.

They have it available but it's like £30, I don't think they see it as a viable financial option at this stage, monthly subscriptions are a far more stable model for them.

Frampton-Quigg is the sort of fight that should interest terrestrial TV, instead of the BBC spending the license fee on the last night of the proms and all the other shite they show, put some live sport on(not womens football) and show something that people actually want to see. If all the big fights are £15+ a time on sky box office boxing will remain a minority sport, we need someone to take a step back and realise what's possible, if Froch-Groves II can do 900,000 buys on PPV, how many people would have watched if it was live on BBC 1? That interest would filter down and benefit all levels, from inspiring kids to start boxing to putting more money in every fighters pocket as the increased interest and coverage filtered down to shows like tonight and into the small halls.
