It really didnt make any sense that the CIRA would be involved.

Isnt it so so interesting that the British media jumped all over this story today, following the mention that a faction of the "IRA" were potentially involved. Obsessed and massively keen to try and bring down the republican movement at every opportunIty.

Now the story has lost its political agenda it will fade away from the mainstream British media.

Always the oppressed.... Imagine those dastardly British media types being hostile to a group of terrorists who tried to kill us for 30 years,..

I think as British citizens, we need to read up a lot more on the history of Northern Ireland. For example, I didn't know that there wasn't 'one man - one vote' in Northern Ireland until the late 1960's.

We are veering off topic somewhat, but I really do encourage a lot more of my fellow countrymen to read about the social inequalities that were evident in Northern Ireland, and we are not talking all that long ago.

Can't see that happening with this lot. Shooting on Friday, Eddie Hutch shot dead tonight then an attempted shooting a few hours later, not even waiting to get revenge.
Where was the attempted shooting after Eddie Hutch? Didn't see that being reported.

I'm not sure we need the input of the mainstream press, given the level of inside information *taps nose* and armchair drug gang generalship we're being treated to on this thread. Revenge attacks, shootings done purely for diversionary purposes, the realpolitik of Dublin drug gangs in crystallised form, its like Sun Tzu's The Art of War for drug kingpins.

Absolutely feck all to do with boxing right enough.

The housing complex where Eddie Hutch was living doesn't look very luxurious, if he were a kingpins brother your imagine he'd be pretty wealthy. There's not much point living a life on the run from the police, Interpol and armed and dangery men if you're living a bog standard life on housing benefit.

From what I've read online this morning he wasn't involved in crime in recent times and worked as a taxi man in Dublin. An easy target by all accounts.

Wasn't that The Monks? What's the story with him, he's portrayed as a 'former criminal' and 'anti-drugs' 'Robin Hood figure'...but seems to be in control of a whole part of the city...

the money prob was "the monks" but was in eddies name and taken away. As for Hutch "the monk" he would be viewed as anti drugs to an extent but its moreso his family members who are "in control" of certain areas not the monk. :bag:

Fair play to him if he'd chosen a different life though what was the point in getting involved in the first place? I thought all these big gangsters had money to burn.

Good point. If he was innocent and just targeted because of his name then we could see other innocent people from the Kinahan side targeted because of their name.

This feud could end up making other gangster feuds look like a game of chess. These lads seem pretty ruthless.

I watched a gangster thing recently on NetFlix and on the Ireland episode one of the fellas (maybe one of the Dunne lot can't remember) when he was getting taken down he apparently said 'if you think we're bad just wait and see what's coming'! Seems he wasn't wrong!

Glad i , decided at a young age , that life was'nt for me .. fornicate that , if the police are not out to get you , the other villains are , , Funny thing is , most of my familly have been in and out , in and out , and don't seem to have much to show for it , except , other toe rags respect them ..

Suppose if your head of some type of organisation and living the millionaire lifestyle , jet setting everywhere ,, lovely bikini clad girlies lining up to give you a blowjob , living like a king it may be worth it ,, but fornicate me if you can't go to a boxing weigh in , without on the left, gangsters dressed has police , wanting to kill you , and on the right police wanting to lock you up for 25 years ,,

Then that for me would be a little too stressfull ,,

Terrorist is such a subjective term.
