Excluding Glazkov's bum knee, Joshua and Martin have a combined best win over Dillian Whyte. Potentially world class I would give you, but actual world class? I don't think being a realist and not being taken in by a shiny belt and a bucket of hype is even approaching 'ridiculous'.
Despite all that this has become a VERY INTRIGUING MATCH. Because of Joshua. HEY! He was Olymp. gold recently! 0nly 15 matches. Martin credit for talking as he do! I pick the English and LOOKING to wage a $280.00 bet..
I agree. But it's hard to judge just what level these two are operating at, irrespective of the result.

It's not something you can just " cover" lol. Put it this way. Martin has likely been fighting against orthodox fighters forever. AJ has likely faced southpaws a fraction of that time. And every indication has been that he struggles with it. The habits you develop against right handers can be your undoing against a lefty.
Yeah I get that but Martin does seem like a very limited southpaw. I know leftys can throw some boxers off but Joshua seems like a very clued up fighter all round.
I'd imagine Joshua will come out and take a look at him early and evaluate Martins strengths and see what poses the danger in terms of one punch returns, I find it hard to imagine Martin has enough skills to boss Joshua in the boxing department.
Joshua has a number of potentially fight stopping tools in his arsenal, he has a decent jab can mix it up and downstairs is faily accurate and carries one hell of a solid punch.
Joshua looks very disciplined and doesn't strike me as a boxer who will lose his sh_t should thing go pear shaped for awhile, he has a good corner who so far have kept him well balanced.
This looks good for Joshua today as long as he remains controlled and breaks Martin down piece by piece and if the knockout presents itself early then jump all over it and don't get overly confident, keep it structured and stick to the plan and hopefully it will all come together for him.

How boxing fans and "experts" love repeating cliches. Its amazing.

Martins southpaw stance gives him no advantages. One, he is NOT a "TRICKY southpaw", stop saying it. Two, he is not technically skilled enough to present any difficulties to anyone.

Martins bets chance is to try and overpower Joshua early. Still its nearly impossible task.

It may or may not be an advantage, we'll see. I've fought southpaws, and it is definitely different.. If Martin is so unskilled AJ should knock him out quick. He won't. Kinda hope AJ gets owned, so there are no excuses.

I agree southpaws are different to fight or spar and your muscle memory is thrown off sometimes. I don't know how anyone would take a southpaw on short notice. Either way I am looking forward to this fight. I like both guys.

I think Joshua will win this fight by being more active, landing the harder and cleaner punches.

Joshua comes out to P Diddy and Biggie Smalls. Joshua strolls into the ring. He looks very confident.

Prince Charles Martin also looks very confident with a crown on his head.

Michael Buffer about to give the introductions.

Joshua won round 1. Joshua started landing some big right hands around the 130 mark and landed 3 more nice right hands before the end of the round. Martin did not do much. 10-9 Joshua.

Do NOT fight in Britain.
I thought this was well understood.

Charles Martin looked like crap. I didn't see him land any noteworthy punches, not sure he even threw any. The punches he thrown were all half assed. Joshua wrecked him easy.

Your fears were well founded. He was clear headed and kept pace with the count both times, timing it for 9.

He even kinda hesitated on 9 like "Ya getting up or what?"

That was quick. Does this show how good Whyte was or how bad Martin is?

He landed one decent left in the second but that is all.

Referee did nothing wrong. Martin didn't beat the count. Ref even slowed it down for him at one point

What does it to do with anything in this case ? Martin was an embarrassment.

Martin looked really bad and totally stiff. He prepared but looked unprepared and was scared to throw his left because he was getting hit by Joshua's right. He had nothing for him.
