Far superior technique offensively and defensively. On the face of it Davies may we'll be the harder hitter but you can see it coming a mile off, and Taylor was just able to tuck up and counter with tight punches. I don't get Davies' left hook that seems to come from up to down, I dunno maybe Davies has knocked a guy out in sparring by punching the top of his head or something.

Davies has always been rather crude. He strikes me as a decent athlete without much polishing, and obviously not the type of redeeming power someone like Wilder has. His feet are as slow as eff too.

It's funny, Davies was showing great heart all through the fight - bombing forward doggedly whenever Taylor hurt him. Then all of a sudden he gestures to his eye and just stops fighting. Hope he's OK as he could still be in lots of fun fights in the future.

Taylor looked awesome though - maybe a little overconfident at times but incredible ability.

Fvcking superb win and a fccking superb fight, Davies is a tough cookie even his worst critics cant deny that he can take a shot, he did want out in the end though he turned his back, I'm not sure if that knockdown broke something, he pointed, Taylor was a level above though, he was superb against a sharp, dangerous fighter, never worked the jab as well tonight but he did put Davies down with it in the 4th though, his body shots were class all night but I always felt the finish would come with a head shot though, Taylor stunned him a few times but struggled to land clean to the head and had more success downstairs, the right hand to deck Davies was a peach I never seen coming let alone Ohara

Epic win for Taylor that was class but i'll give Davies his kudos he gave it a good go

Although technically true, it does not tell the whole story. He took some whacks in there, he was in trouble, getting caught and he was firing back when he could and dug his toes in to rip his own shots at Taylor. Sure he turned at the end but he took his licks, that was a right tear up.

Yep. The difference in boxing ability was clear ahead of the fight, it was just a matter if Taylor had any hidden deficiencies that could give a lesser fighter a chance.

When the fight was made I had no doubt Taylor was the better man, but with so many rating Davies I started to wonder if I was overlooking something in a guy who I saw as crude, slow on his feet, and lacking in serious power. After watching this, I don't think I missed anything...the O must've stood for overrated.

Taylor, on the other hand, is the real deal.

Of course he did, he was hurt badly early and really it looked like one winner from then on ...but he kept on coming, taking a hell of a lot of punishment round after round, and kept trying, stubborn as hell, finally after half an hour, had the fight brutally punched out of him ....that is a massive heart.
