that was even better than i was expecting. taylor is a star, hope he keeps his feet on the ground and away from the bams,if he does he will go far. think he broke davies nose bad with that punch that caused the second knock down, maybe why davies turned away. well done to both lads for more than living up to expectations ,cracking fight

I thought Taylor looked like a right unpleasant nasty bastard there, but I kinda liked it :box:
Sweeping statement or not, it's true ....Scots do tend to be shitty winners. They go totally OTT.

Lots of finger pointing, chanting and rubbing it in. Not just from the crowd but inside the ring too.

Far superior technique offensively and defensively. On the face of it Davies may we'll be the harder hitter but you can see it coming a mile off, and Taylor was just able to tuck up and counter with tight punches. I don't get Davies' left hook that seems to come from up to down, I dunno maybe Davies has knocked a guy out in sparring by punching the top of his head or something.

Ohara quit
When the going got tough,, typical bully , josh done right thing putting it on him at end there
I dunno, not sure that putting it on him was the right thing to do there, Ohara had already quit imo, Taylor didn't really need to lay into him again, the fight was effectively over.

Davies has always been rather crude. He strikes me as a decent athlete without much polishing, and obviously not the type of redeeming power someone like Wilder has. His feet are as slow as eff too.

Brilliant from the scot, what a punch to put him over with, right nasty bastard at the end. Just what he needs to be.

Davis showed massive heart and took an almighty beating, anyone questioning his bravery is FULL OF SHITE. And that includes the numb nutted commentator, what an plank.

Great stop from Foster. Jumped in and pushed Josh away.

Terrific fight, so impressed with Taylor.

Really? It's boxing - it was still live and the ref hadn't stopped it.

He had a few vicious words though, but Ohara played big man then swallowed it.

It's funny, Davies was showing great heart all through the fight - bombing forward doggedly whenever Taylor hurt him. Then all of a sudden he gestures to his eye and just stops fighting. Hope he's OK as he could still be in lots of fun fights in the future.

Taylor looked awesome though - maybe a little overconfident at times but incredible ability.

Sorry he didn't show 'massive heart'. 1st knockdown he went down without taking a punch a bit after an innocuous jab, then bottled it when Taylor rushed in to finish it.

Fvcking superb win and a fccking superb fight, Davies is a tough cookie even his worst critics cant deny that he can take a shot, he did want out in the end though he turned his back, I'm not sure if that knockdown broke something, he pointed, Taylor was a level above though, he was superb against a sharp, dangerous fighter, never worked the jab as well tonight but he did put Davies down with it in the 4th though, his body shots were class all night but I always felt the finish would come with a head shot though, Taylor stunned him a few times but struggled to land clean to the head and had more success downstairs, the right hand to deck Davies was a peach I never seen coming let alone Ohara

Epic win for Taylor that was class but i'll give Davies his kudos he gave it a good go

He quit, no question.

My guess is we might get a David Haye style "I hurt my toe" excuse from OD. A thumb in the eye or some shit. But it would be just that, shit, because he was outclassed and quit.

Exciting fight while it lasted.

Although technically true, it does not tell the whole story. He took some whacks in there, he was in trouble, getting caught and he was firing back when he could and dug his toes in to rip his own shots at Taylor. Sure he turned at the end but he took his licks, that was a right tear up.

Yep. The difference in boxing ability was clear ahead of the fight, it was just a matter if Taylor had any hidden deficiencies that could give a lesser fighter a chance.

When the fight was made I had no doubt Taylor was the better man, but with so many rating Davies I started to wonder if I was overlooking something in a guy who I saw as crude, slow on his feet, and lacking in serious power. After watching this, I don't think I missed anything...the O must've stood for overrated.

Taylor, on the other hand, is the real deal.

Of course he did, he was hurt badly early and really it looked like one winner from then on ...but he kept on coming, taking a hell of a lot of punishment round after round, and kept trying, stubborn as hell, finally after half an hour, had the fight brutally punched out of him ....that is a massive heart.

Jesús what a tough crowd

What a scrap that was. I never expected such a size difference. Raylor looked huge for the 10 stone limit. That hook that Davies walked on to was vicious.

Barry saying he wants to make more 50/50 fights
No way Taylor Burns is that , nice big fat payday for Burns who would struggle to win a round at this stage in his career.
Suppose Burns has earned a big last hurrah, but it just isn't competitive

McGuigan's difficult to stomach when he plays the benevolent, we just want what's best for boxing and the fans role.
