Your opinion isn't a very well thought out one then. Ward has the best resume in the sport of all active fighters by a wide margin. If his last two wins had been controversy free he'd be #1 P4P without question. It's the controversy that leaves him open to be ousted.

I'm not a fan of Ward, never have been, never will be, but to say he's not even among the 10 best boxers in the sport is quite ridiculous.

That was then. He is not better than he was before and his P4P No. 1 status according to Ring Magazine would indicate that he is the best he has ever been which is untrue. He is not in his prime years and he has to get favoritism from the officials in order to win.

His wins controversial or no over Kovalev are more impressive than anything the people ranked just under him have done up to this point. Several of them are nipping at his heels to take that #1 spot, but they haven't done enough yet to take it clear.

A clear, controversy free winner in the Canelo/GGG bout will probably take Ward's spot.

Overall considering record & quality: lomachenko

Loma has the best skill set, beats good opponents like they debut boxer.

Why GGG over ward in reascent record. Simple, ward had a long lay off and lost 1 time, some would say 2 and GGG had no lay off and has consistantly faced quality opponents. Tkoing brook and defeating the second best middleweight in the world is simply more impressiv than losing the first kovalev fight and needing 10+ low blows to beat him in a second fight, or getting dq, however you want to view at it.

You don't need to like him or his style. You can close your eyes and create your own private Idaho. But, you can't change the fact that SOGgy won both fights and that he is #1 P4P, concrete bigot.
