Groves is useless and panicy up close, and his chin isn't great. I expected Eubank to improve a level, close the range and wear him down by forcing the pace from the start.
What fight did you watch?
I watched this one, and saw Groves look uncomfortable up close still, but dictate the range easily. As I said, I thought Eubank needed to up a level over what we have seen, but I thought he could. I was wrong.
Fair play. The man is one paced in my eye. He lacks any form of ring intelligence. If he can't dictate he can't win. GG schooled his arse tonight.

Brains always beats brawn. For all his speed and power, Eubank falls to pieces when he faces guys that are slick, and have good ring savy.

To be fair, considering some of the scoring as of late, at least it was UD!

Jnr has a good chin and a big heart but if he wants to succeed he needs to put his ego in a box and get a proper trainer and do as he's told, otherwise he's going nowhere.

118-110 Groves for me. Eubank outclassed exactly like he was the last time he stepped up a level and wasn’t facing a stationary target.

Reality check for all those that fell for the hype :TU:

We’d seen this before already, I’m surprised so many thought he could do it especially at 168 against Groves.

I'm glad that Eubanks lost. Completely unwarranted hype, all style no substance. Stylish wins against B level fighters, but got no intelligence in world class fights.

Did Eubank say that he thought he won the fight? Just read a snippet of the interview but surely it was tongue in cheek?

I think that's a reasonable summary. He should have expected that Groves would work on Saunders template, and be prepared to take risks to make it a dogfight from the start. A round or two of getting feinted out of it you can forgive, but after that, he should have been able to see he wasn't going to wear him down that way, and start to bull in like he did at the end. Big chance he'd have ended up on his arse, but at least it would have been a fight.

Might have given the last round to Eubank.

Lost every other , clueless , wild , swinging performance and the corner work is a joke .

Also think there were 2 knockdowns that wasn't scored .

Well done to Groves

About that, yeah. I'd maybe have given 118-112 had I been scoring properly. Eubank won a couple of rounds.
