Galahad is going to be so embarrassed with that result.

He’ll claim he was caught with a lucky shot and he’ll likely win the immediate rematch but he’ll never live the KO down.

Yeah - I thought he’d been good tonight too until that analysis.

So with it being a voluntary Eddie will almost certainly have a rematch clause.

Kid may well blame the weight and move up so who does Eddie match Kiko with?

Unifaction 😩
It won’t. Wood’s got Conlan and until they sort out the Santa Cruz stuff the IBF won’t allow a unification of the standard belt.
Oh yeah, forgot. Thank fornicate.

What a finish.

Can anyone think of someone more in control and cruising to a dominant stylish win that got KTFO'd like that ?

It's up there with the biggest upsets.
wonder what the in fight odds were?
Martinez 14/1 to win by stoppage.

This was a fight for Galahad to shine, and put on a big homecoming performance. At least I expected that, as I think most did.

Galahad was gone after that first shot, he had a full minute to recover in the corner but was out of it. He couldn't open his mouth to let his gumshield out. Martinez came straight out and landed a beautiful punch, and that was that.

Guys I think Povetkin and Martinez has proved to us not to sleep on huge punchers.

Martinez should have won against Zelfa Barrett ffs he hasn't been getting his head kicked in every fight for the last few years has he?

I switched off after R2 because I like Kiko and was struggling to watch a much bigger guy batter an older fella. Lucky I switched back in time to see the replay. Wow. Top 5 upset of the year.

Either that or he promotes Martinez's first defence in Spain.

He's talking about it now - seems reasonable.
Kid always had a great chin, never seen him floored, "you don't get a bad chin overnight".
It's not like he's deluded.

That punch was a finisher, but maybe Kid avoids it, or recovers quicker or something..?

If being weight drained affects your chin in the 6th after dominating the fight then I received ANON anal tonight.

It was yet another bad night for Eddie's stable. It just shows that even with DAZN type money, it ain't all black and white. Two world champs gone in one night, and pretty good proof his Euro cruiser champ ain't going further
