He may have said so, didn't mean he did. He was coasting for the first few rounds content to get a paycheck. Then when he dropped Fisher, he realised "this guy's fornicating shit, I can beat him" and won every single round from then on. And should have got the decision.

Hearn saying there’s a clause for a third fight. Allen really has Fisher’s number and I can’t believe they will put him straight back in without some rebuilding fights beforehand.

Really pleased for Dave Allen, great to see him finally pick up a belt hope he can put together a few wins and have a shot at English/Commonwealth/British as well.

Pleased for Allen too. He should have won the Commonwealth against the decidedly limited Lenroy Allen but he alas threw that one away in a very frustrating performance at Sheff Utd.

Fkn clause for a rematch for a third fkn fight for this?

It’s done with. Leave it alone Eddie.

It's more than that. Dave Allen sparred Fisher a few years ago and bossed him really, there footage of it somewhere. Allen talked about it before the first fight and about how raw Fisher is.

Allen's made Fisher look like what he is - a big, powerful rugby player taught to box. That will take you so far but gets old very quickly against a seasoned pro. Allen's fairly limited but knew he had Fisher's number, he's said it numerous times now.

Bookies taking the piss with their markers tbh these days. In Boxing draws were nearly always 33/1, you never get that now. KO and TKO is a real piss take. Often an MC will announce KO particularly American MC’s when technically it’s a RSC or TKO. Bookies really should group RSC/TKO/KO as one type of finish, ie fighter stopped…

Bookies do group them that way and the odds will reflect that.

You can bet on distinct outcomes like KO and the odds are obviously a lot longer.

Good result for Dave, Moore is also managing him so he should get looked after. He has a 2 fight deal with Matchroom now so hopefully a local fight next, Moore indicated so on TalkSport.

Really good win this

Hearn knows another rematch is not wise, said as much to Bunce on 5Live.

if the Bosh army keep buying the tickets and keep the show running, I'll watch Fisher against lesser, more basic fighters. the pub carpark rumble style has a special little place in my heart. a bit of WWF.

It made me dislike him. I want a boxer to teabag his fallen opponent like someone on Counterstrike.

No arguments or "controversy" this time over the result...that's almost as emphatic as it gets :box:

Fisher boxed ok for 4 rounds but should have been shooting the jab a lot more instead of pawing/measuring with an open glove...infact, the board should be pulling up the referee about completely letting that go :shame:

Allen flicked the switch in the 5th round, upped the work rate and hurt Fisher to the body before landing big shots to the head. Game over

Despite the Brokeback Mountain love for Allen, I don't get the appeal. His moaning during the fight to the ref just makes him look like a licensed squealer to me, especially when he's just as dirty himself.

That said, this was an English title level type contest and a British title shot shouldn't be hard to arrange if Allen wants it.

Back to drawing board for Fisher. Now the bubble has well & truly burst, will the masses still buy tickets in the same numbers ?

I still think Johnny might work his way to a British title shot if he applies himself and sticks with it, plus careful guidance...and their could be more setbacks before he gets there. It's going to take a lot of resilience on his part and time will tell if he's got it :maybe:

I'm sure Fisher can still sell an minimum of 2k tickets without trying.

Being on the comeback trail is a gimmick in itself, and it won't be hard to fill the copper box doing 8 rounders against international opponents.

Rinse that for a couple of years, then a British title fight.

With the top 10 in Britain being already beyond that level, it might even be a winnable fight.

They'll bring him back on Conway v Liddard and try to transfer the fans to Liddard. It's how Hatton got most of his, following Gomez and Farnell.

Really think it's too soon for Liddard, hasn't really fought against area level yet, Conway is above British level.
His last match was a typical Hearn match, statistically a good record, against the usual suspects, and a non puncher, gets a British title shot.
Of course Liddard is a good prospect, but he is being chucked in at the deep end here

I hear you Coco, but Aaron Sutton is probably English title level (but a light puncher)and Liddard did look good dismantling him yesterday. George looked a level above.

Agree that Conway is a different proposition.

Geez.

It’s very tough to get a proper KO. The ref has to count to 10 so even if he waves it off mid count I still think it goes down as a TKO.

On this one the towel came in and there was no need for a count.

I’d never bet on KO only. Too many variables.
I almost never see a KO where the referee counts to 10 these days. It's almost always a case where the towel is thrown, it's waved off without a count or something of that sort.

Still plenty of KO endings in Eastern Europe.

Ironically, I suspect most 'KO' victories these days are from bodyshots.

Check out Murat Gassiev's fights versus Llungqvist (bodyshot 'KO') and Balogun (head shot through the guard) for recent examples. There are loads but Gassiev was the guy that sprung to mind.

Yeah each territory sort of applies the rules their own way really. That's why it's always important to note not only who is fighting, but where.

I don’t bet, but that’s what I assumed?

When I scroll through sky sports and it has betting normally aww it says KO/TKO or something along them lines.

Depends where the fight is too. With CSAC, there’s no such thing as TKO. Every stoppage is ruled KO.
