White has just said that and I'm paraphrasing he's tired of waiting for GSP. The fights off Bisping will fight Romero next.

Edgar looked amazing this weekend. It's a real shame him and McGregor never got the chance to face each other at FW.

Gustafson consistently produces excellent fights. I'd like to see him win the title at some point. He's given both, DC and Jones hell.

Gustafsson will almost surely face the Jones/Cormier winner. Assuming that fight actually happens and doesn't implode for the eleventeenth time.
The UFC has kind of messed up by letting so many top LHWs go. I'd like to see stuff like Davis/Gustafsson II but obviously that's impossible now.

Jones has really ballsed up the division. It's a shame, so much talent, but with the amount of downtime is he going to be the same when he returns. He's basically barely fought for 4 years.

I think Jones is the best fighter I've ever seen by a fairly wide margin. It's a shame what has become of his career. He has completely wasted 2 years of his prime.

Id say mighty mouse deserves that crown. Icredible fighter. Jones a close second.

Due to Jones' hiatus, I'd agree. However, Jones is the best fighter I've ever seen in MMA.

That LHW that finished his fight in 22 seconds looks like a fornicating killer. He's only 23 as well. Not top level competition that he beat but he made real short work of a solid guy.
Hunt vs Lewis was awesome in its way however the ending was an anticlimax. Injured back or not I think Hunt would've beaten Lewis anyway, though it seemed when he was walking out of the cage he did look very stiff. A fucked back can be totally debilitating. Even though it probably tired him out I thought Lewis' game plan was pretty good. Attempting to punch with Hunt probably would've got him knocked out. He didn't give Hunt many chances to counter.
Brunson knocking out Kelly, who overachieved massively(have to respect the guy for what he has done though at his age with IMO limited athletic ability) was about as predictable as it gets.
Great knockout for Hangman Hooker, he's a huge lightweight but I think guys better than Pearson will be able to get inside and catch him.
Going back a week, totally shocked that Halloway beat Aldo who I thought had Halloway covered everywhere. Aldo should move up if he continues there's nothing exciting for him at 145. He's been fighting top 5 guys for 8-9 years, he's had a lot of injuries and it's probably all finally caught up with him despite his youngish age.
Bring on Edgar vs Halloway
On to 213
As much as I like both Nunes and Schevshenko its bullshit they're headlining a card that has Romero and Whittaker squaring off for interim belt. It's an insane card and I can't wait.
I almost hate that Whittaker vs Romero is happening, they're two of my favourite fighters across all classes. I think they're both better than Bisping. This is going to be a great fight though, it'll be tense even when they're not throwing as both guys have one punch power and are quick. If I had to pick I would go with Romero because of his grappling advantage however this is really a pick 'Em and both guys can finish at any point.

Jesus, forgot about the Holloway fight, that's quite a result.

I wasn't surprised either. Holloway has gotten a lot better since the McGregor loss. I'd love to see that rematch. Ain't gunna happen though. We'll probably only see Conor once a year in big money fights... If at all. This Mayweather deal has really put Conor and the title on a major hold.

Hunt is an absolute legend. 43 years old and still KOs a top 10 HW. I would not mind seeing Hunt/JDS II as I think Hunt could potentially avenge that loss, even at his advanced age.
Brunson is really good but I think he'll always be on the outside of the title picture looking in, similar to a (post-comeback) Thales Leites.

DJ? #1 All-Time? No way. Unless we're talking skill/talent and nothing else.
Easily the best in his division.. but in boxing world, this is comparable to Ricardo Lopez.
Nobody was more dominant than Lopez... and nobody would consider him the greatest in boxing history. He's never even mentioned in the debates.
Hunt dug deep, but I don't think he could take out dos Santos.

Aldo gets massively overrated in this thread. That's hard to do with someone of his skill level, but it's been done here.

I still think he is the 2nd best guy in the division. But he was the last of the old guard. I believe he gets overrated some because of it.

It's hard to overrate Aldo. I think he's a top 5 all-time P4P fighter. Easily the most dominant 145er ever.

Definitely the most dominate `145er. That's fair I spose. I'd have GSP, Anderson, Bones, Hendo, Fedor, and possibly DJ ahead of him.

All time?
McGregor has yet to even defend a belt. McGregor may be better than him...possibly. But, he has not been in with nearly enough top guys to be considered in the running for a top p4p spot. It's also hard for me to put him over Aldo in a P4P all time sense when Conor lost to Nate Diaz and then went life or death with him to win a decision that could have went either way.
