Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk - 29 April 2023?

If Usyk walked away to focus on another opportunity you really couldn’t blame him - but imagine the reaction from the Fury fan club on here.
No, I think a lot of sensible people would do. Has there been many fights in the past where one party is fannying about 6 weeks out like this? It still sounds like Fury needs a bit of rehab or something, not a fight.Frostieballs wrote: ↑18 Mar 2023, 13:36 If Usyk walked away to focus on another opportunity you really couldn’t blame him - but imagine the reaction from the Fury fan club on here.
I think he’s a narcissist. I can’t imagine he’s scared of Usyk, but he’s probably not liking the fact he is losing the popularity battle and wants to be seen to be calling all the shots and holding all the power.polecateddy wrote: ↑18 Mar 2023, 13:39No, I think a lot of sensible people would do. It was reported that they had agreed and now Usyk is sending “Points for agreement “.

Never?Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑18 Mar 2023, 17:11 Difference is. Fury keeps on doing it.
Usyk has never done anything like this.
It's nothing alike. Usyk has agreed to everything, 70-30 split in Fury's favour, and is now demanding it's on the proposed date with neutral judges and ref. Team Fury aren't signing off on that. It seems like Fury is scared to fight without crooked judges and a hometown ref. In the meantime Usyk has a mandatory if Fury pussies out of the proposed date so he needs to set a deadline so he can arrange that fight.
He beat Weaver, Witherspoon and Smith before they became WBA champions. Dokes would have been a decent additition but he quickly lost to Coetzee. I believe Holmes took a stand about not fighting someone from an apartheid regime. Holmes would have got paid allot for Coetzee because of the racial factors. But there was a movement against apartheid that he strongly believed in. Page and Tubbs held the belt for 1 fight each.HomicideHenry wrote: ↑19 Mar 2023, 00:41 I wonder if Larry Holmes got this much flack for never having been undisputed champion. After all, he never fought any of the WBA title holders while as WBC & lineal champion.![]()
Don't talk logic. It's dangerous, it can scramble the brains of Furyettes.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑18 Mar 2023, 17:11 Difference is. Fury keeps on doing it.

He gets his fights done.

“And now unified heavyweight champ Usyk, 35, is setting deadlines of his own to the "unpredictable" Fury.
The Ukrainian has said the fight must happen before March 4 otherwise it will have to wait until later in the year.
Usyk is a devout Orthodox Christian and fasts over the Easter period - so a fight after March 4 in the run up to the festival is off the cards.
Orthodox Christians will celebrate Easter 2023 on April 16, so a bout in the weeks immediately after that date isn't a possibility either.“
Lol, how could he turn it down when there was never a set date, venue etc set for December? Here, I made it really easy for you: I broke it down into 10 points and included lots and lots of repetition of the same thing.
