- Alas, poor Gypsy. I knew him, a fighter of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy: he hath given me many most excellent fights; and now, how abhorred in the public sphere he has become. Here hung the blubber that shook with jocularity, and where be your gibes now, your gambols, your songs, your flashes of Fury that were wont to set the sports on a roar? Nary a single one now save to mock your own grinning beside your lady, her paint an inch thick.
To this favour she must come and laugh at that

If it does'nt go ahead which is looking highly likely , he can't fight in America , Saudis obviously don't think he's worth the money , it makes you wonder why anyone would ever promote him again , after all theres fee's to be paid for booking the stadium , theres lawyers who have to be paid , its an all round mess and someone has already lost money , so why would anyone even bother promoting him especielly in a fight that probably would'nt sell too good, you know Choisora 4 or something

I guess he and his team are aware of the fact, that the Usyk bout is necessary, so they'll take it. Probably this sabotage illusion is a way to get in the Usyk's head, since there's no other option to get there.

Maybee , could backfire no one would blame Usyk if he walked away only five and half weeks no signiture , think no don't think, actually know ,if i was Usyks manager i would just tell them sign by weekend this weekend or forget it , i would'nt play there games , i'd tell him to do one fight my mandotories get 70% of them fights let him scrounge around see if Chisora 4 will make him has much money , Doubt he'll offer Joyce a shot , or Ruiz , Wilder probably would'nt go to England he already believes they cheated him

It is difficult to see any logic behind this other than Fury & fWank had planned on Fury fighting a Chisora type opponent on the 29th April, and had planned using Usyks name to sell it, much the same they did with AJ to sell Chisora 3.
But being so close now - it may just happen. Not sure less 5 weeks is enough to promote someone else coming in now .. especially with Fury's shrinking fan base.

Genuinely, do you think AJ was desperate for that fight but when it didn't come off he settled on Franklin four months later?

I don't think AJ was desperate for the Fury fight when he was called out by Fury; but I think he was interested enough to have genuinely taken it if the terms were to his liking .. by that I mean he would have wanted the inevitable rematch clause and no less than the 60/40 split .. probably generous things in the rematch too. But I not convinced he really expected the offer to be genuine so didn't give it too much effort or consideration.
As we know, AJ is a brand as much as a boxer.
But that doesnt distract from the fact Fury used AJ to sell Chisora 3.

The AJ 'call out' was all for his Netflix series. Chisora had been agreed upon months before.

I agree. I've mentioned this previously, but Ronnie O'Sullivan's series will show the highs and lows of a season and him going through Mark Allen, John Higgins and Judd Trump en route to a record equalling 7th World Title. He could have quite easily lost to any of those guys, who are brilliant snooker players.
Fury's series, by contrast, will show him engage in a pantomime call out to Joshua and then take a guaranteed victory fight against ancient Chisora. It's when you compare Fury to top sports men and women you realise how thin on the ground his legacy actually is, and the rubbish being served up to boxing fans. Thank goodness for fighters like Uysk, Joyce and Carl Froch etc.
Cherry picking poor quality opponents is a waste of a talent.

Do you think undercard fights have been arranged for apr 29 and are awaiting announcement? Are the boxers giving everything to peak on a day that quite probably won't happen? Or have no undercard overtures been made because the fight is a smoke screen for Fury v Top 15 outlier/UFC freakshow at a later date?

Well put. I wonder if the ref had waved Tyson off in Wilder 1 or Deontay had been gifted the verdict if Fury would be quite so risk averse in his matchmaking. Probably!

Some like me don't think its going to happen , Others think its all a smoke screen to gain publicity they don't need, to drum up sales ,, Will admit i'm now thinking WHO KNOWS
Maybee both are in camp training hard for the fight they know there doing , if it happens they must be , but really if it does happen this long drawn out process keeping it secret , till being ordered to release the date ect ect , is it good buisness , my take is NO , its just treating fans like money makers and idiots
Really wanted to see this fight it had me intrigued Fury the Giant or Usyk the faster boxer , bla bla bla ,, i suppose push come to shove if i had to pick a winner and forced to bet , i'd go Fury because he's a giant who can box and move when he wants too ,
But now i'm finding its boring and not sure i'll even bother , sick of it focusing on wanting to watch Garcia now
