I'm a massive quotes fan - I did a few quotes columns for the very, very short lived Uppercut magazine.
Some of my favourites:
1. Tex Cobb after hearing Howard Cosell said he'd never commentate again because of witnessing the brutal beating Cobb had taken at the hands of Larry Holmes:
"I can perform no greater service for mankind than this."
2. And Cobb on accusations that he'd been trying to verbally rile Holmes during the fight:
“If I wanted to communicate with Larry during the fight, I would have had to send him a letter. Every time I wanted to say something I found it hard speaking because he kept putting his left hand in my mouth.”
3. An old opponent of featherweight legend Willie Pep approached him at a party. “Do you remember me?” asked the man. “Lie down so I can recognize you,” replied Pep, veteran of over 240 scraps.
4. Kenny Norton, novice commentator:
“Shavers is the fighter in the black body, Cobb the fighter in the white body.”

Cobb was pound for pound the funniest boxer of all time, if not the best fighter....
This non-pc quote is possibly his funniest:
In 1980 or so, there was a big dinner honouring heavyweights of the past and present. Joe Louis, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier and Larry Holmes were all there. So were Renaldo Snipes and Tex Cobb. In his usual fashion, Tex Cobb got up to give a toast. He said, "I'm honoured to be in the same room as some of the baddest niggers ever." Renaldo Snipes stood up, and said, "I'm not going to stand here and let you call me a person!" Cobb said, "Relax. I wasn't talking about you."
this is good also:
"I don't think his hands could take the abuse." On a possible rematch with Holmes.

Two Naz ones for me:
1. After his first fight on sky (can't remember the opponent, but was at that tent in Shepton Mallett)
"I am a banger and a champion too, I am not bragging but I am too good"
2. After the Robinson fight
"Everything his camp said......... well I was too fast, too strong, too good and I'm world champ
