If that fight came off and Witter won - he would be my best friend and favourite fighter - I f*cking cannot stand Khan!!!
Why?

If he gets a job with Team Khan then Khan will be the new SRL!

How anyone can claim that the WBC belt means more than the WBO now is beyond me, all of these organisations are ridiculous, the WBA with their interim/ordinary/super/super dooper championships, the IBF with whom it's almost impossible to make a defence of the title because they try and take it from you as soon as you've won it and the WBC which is easily the most corrupt of all of them.

Fantastic news for Junior Witter!!!

He needs a few outings to get ready, maybe some gym fights, inactivity is gonna get him.

If he wins and fights Khan then he can fight hatton after he stops Khan in 2 rounds.

Whoops, I forgot Kotelnik is gonna beat Khan.

Hatton/Khan/Witter!

Do it for british Boxing and then Witter can knock you both out!

Witter will need a jab against Alexander.

Witter needs to get back to Boxing.

Witter's jabs poor though, very telegraphed

So let's get this correct for people on here who just slag off the WBO.

Bradley dropped the WBC title to hold on to the WBO one. Right?

further proof how diluted the sanctioning bodies have become.

give the man some time to fight his mandatory.

instead of that they've given him an ultimatum and strip him straight away.

And if they stopped rating Gary Lockett, Amir Khan and Kevin Mitchell as number 1 contenders they'd get slagged off even less.

Well I guess Peterson is worth more money than Witter/Alexander also.

Witter was blessed with a lot of talent but am I the only one that thinks he has always under achieved? I just feel he could have been so much better. Be good to see him win another 'world' title but I fear he will never get the true recognition from fight fans.

Has any FW fighter held the WBC belt? I thought he had an exclusive deal with WBO

I agree with banjo, the belt situ is becoming embarrassing. The WBA should be outlawed. Imagine this - you sacrfice plenty in your life, work and train hard, fight some tough guys, work your way to the top and finally get a title shot. You beat the 'champion of the world' and you can then call yourself - wait for it - the 'Ordinary Champion' WTF?!!

Anyway, good luck to Junior

Not when he uses it properly, plus it is better than waving it in front of people like wand!

As for Witter, I think his time has come and gone. He has a puncher's chance but if he has to travel to America to tackle a hungry, fresher, unbeaten fighter then I think he wil struggle.
is Haughian - JOD on the cards then/ confirmed or near-confirmed, mate?

I think JOD stands him on his head he's a bit too flatfooted to deal with JOD, IMO

Only according to boxrec I believe. Again, I appologise if this is a WBA thing.

yes, BoxRec have done this to differentiate from the "Super" champs. I think that's fair enough in the divisions that have dual (or triple!) champs, for example Caballero/Dunne, but it's unfair on the legit WBA champs such as
Kotelnik. It's especially unfair on legit WBA champs of the past who won the belt before the splintering happened (when the WBA was still a top title). Apparently Muhammad Ali was an "ordinary" champion...

Hope Witter wins his belt back being a fan but hopefully he doesn't lose hunger this time and lose it again.

It's changed now anyway BoxRec now lists it as "WBA World title"
