McDermott fought for the British, lost on a cut and THEN fought for the English- although his next fight is an eliminator for the British, so fair play.

another EG, when Lawton beat Gethin he wanted to use it as a stepping stone for a shot at Murray

whicker i think *in theory* the english title should often logically lead to a shot at the british title, it's just that politics/economic/promotional issues get in the way.
