In elaboration of my comment above, this makes both Floyds look like idiots
Mayweather Jr because he could've took Hatton out earlier
Mayweather Sr, because it just shows what a cowboy he is.
And DG is right.

Great peformance from Pacquiao. I've been a Hatton fan a long time and hope that he calls it a day after that. He's got nothing left to offer in terms of enhancing his legacy. He can't beat the best. As great as the KO was from Pacquiao it was such a disappointment to see Hatton peppered with right hooks. He's been hit with that shot from Southpaws his whole career and still can't see the shot coming.
Pacquiao has done something special tonight and has proved just how good he is. Looks like its gonna be Floyd next and despite the fashion of Pacs last two wins, I still don't see that he has a chance against Floyd. He may have done the job better, but Floyd will pick him apart. Probably not the right time to start dishing out negative Pacquiao predicitons given the display we just saw from him tonight though so I'll save that for another day and just say thankyou to Manny for another cracking peformance and hopefully no medical trouble for Hatton, he looked in a right state on the canvas, walked out the arena alright though, so hopfully it's just his pride thats damaged.

I couldn't believe how wide Hatton went with one of his hooks in the first, that was countered to put him on his ass. He surely KNEW that Pac would be working on his counters inside wide hooks like that, and he KNEW he'd have the speed to land with power before that hook even got half way around the world. He needed to keep his punches in tighter and be more patient. Oh well.

Crushed. I really like Pacman but was really hoping Ricky could pull it out.
There's not much more to be said except that Pacman is quite brilliant and Hatton for his own sake should retire or at the very least, stay well out of the way of an elite fighter because he has twice proven now that he just isn't good enough.
Hope he's safe though.

Partly dont agree. The Maywaether fight clearly took something out of Hatton (the signs were there in the Lazcano bout), Mayweather pretty much dominated Ricky. However what Manny did was even more spectacular.
Mayweather Sr is not a cowboy, but it does further prove that his claim of being a great trainer is ridiculous. WHO has he trained that you have seen a great improvement in? Oscar looked better under roach in my opinion and Dawson and Guzman soon dispensed with his services and have both done well since splitting.
Above all I just hope that Ricky is OK. That was a very bad knockout , coupled with the accumalitive punches over the years I pray for his long term health. Good guy, and sad to see him out like that. I sincerley hope he hangs them up now.

Felt sorry for Hatton as he had is aura destroyed in the most dramatic of fashions (glad to see him get up and walk out under his own steam to be honest).
Has to be said though, it appeared to me as if all the bad living and the inability to adapt caught up with him big time there.
Half the problem with Hatton for me has been the fact that since beating Kostya he has been guilty of believing his own hype. Referring to himself in the 3rd person is one thing, but it always worried me that rather than trying to live the life of a pro athlete he seemed to revel in this 'salad-dodging' reputation (did you hear that dumb-ass song he came out to?). Moreover, after the wake-up call he received in the Mayweather fight, he really doesn't seemed to have learned any lessons technically.
Makes you wonder whether the self-proclaimed 'world's best trainer' sent him out there with those 'tactics'. Did he simply under-rate Manny's power? Was it arrogance? Naivety? Or is Hatton unable to fight any other way? Either way, it doesn't say much for Floyd sr's influence/ability.
Give Ricky Hatton his dues, he has given his fans plenty to shout about and has never shied away from fighting the best. However, as Colin Harte has just said, against the very best fighters he has come up well short.

Destroyed TWICE abd exposed as the one dimensional slugger I always said he was.
Thought the weoight moight worlk for him against Pacman - but then I realised 'Hatton is going to lose'.
Thats the quickest KO Manny has had for 7 years.
Coincidence that PBF and Pacman both destroyed him and hardly took a opunch back?
P4P My ARSE!
Hope he is ok, but retire now.

Comparing Pac to Armstrong is very apt, because Henry used to watch the opponent's legs and feet at close range to see what was coming. As Roach identified, Hatton loads up the left hook. It kept whistling over Manny's head, yet Ricky was continually hoping to land it rather than adapt.
The final punch was powerful - no doubt, but it was the sheer accuracy that'll frighten everyone at 140. Mayweather has a great chin remember, so that has fight of the decade potential if they get it on for Nov/Dec.
Stunning co-ordination from Pacquiao; that's how you're moving in your head when you shadow box in the mirror!

I think Mayweathers chin is still a question. How many people have landed flush on it in his career?

Listen, technically PACMAN has many flaws, BUT not as many as HATTON!
Haton has fought two top foighters in theor oprime and been knocked out both times and hardly landed a Punch.
A ONE PUNCH KO TONIGHT!

Yeah, that's a good point. To rephrase: he's extremely hard to catch on the chin (which also isn't china).
