I like Boxbuzz. He's a gentleman.
Plus he has a sense of humour which is something you and the other two clowns lack.

Clowns?....an honest, noble if humble profession. Never underestimate the power of a clown, they have been known to selflessly save the lives of many of the so called rough ridin' rodeo "heroes".

Louis, however, was at his destructive best in rematch situations. Maybe Marciano wins the first fight and Louis wins the rematch?
Not sure I agree with the Galento reference but Tommy Farr and Arturo Godoy both gave Louis trouble out of the crouch, no question about it. Also, Louis did get knocked down by a few right hands and folks didn't get up so easily after Rocky knocked them down.
But Louis was Louis, and that's saying something. I'd make the Bomber the favorite with Rocky a live underdog.

Louis devastated Godoy brutally in the rematch, & blasted out Galento handsomely.
Only fair to tell the full story, no?

I didn't say anything about the Galento fight. It's been too long since I watched it but I don't recall it being quite as tough a fight for the Bomber as ray does. But, again, it's been a while.
Louis worked Godoy over pretty good in the rematch but he still had some trouble with the style, I think. Mostly, he had trouble catching a low head that moved side to side, not that that's easy for anyone, but something about that particular movement seemed to throw Louis off a little.
On the other hand, both Godoy and Farr fought cautiously from the crouch -- a defensive crouch, if you will -- trying to crowd Louis sometimes and duck away other times, and both were clearly worried about getting hit (don't blame 'em there). Marciano's more aggressive, confident approach to the 'crouch' might turn out to be far less effective, as Louis always loved it when people came to him.
I still think it's a good fight.

Regarding Galento, I wrote: "But if you look at the Galento film, you'll see that Galento was effective in landing and defending when he used the crouch. He got blitzed when he stood straight up and traded with Louis."
The problem: Galento unwisely abandoned the crouch too many times.

jaclem,
I saw Irwin Corey's act twice at a nightclub.
He was a great actor and so funny it hurt.
His opening, where he came out, seemed about to speak his first words, then stopped and tried to get a piece of lint off his jacket, then was about to speak, when something else caught his attention, etc.
lasted about ten minutes without his ever saying a word, and was one of the funniest things I ever saw.
After ten minutes he finally got out his first word, which was, "However. . . ."
