nah, neither would I.
Unfortunatly, this does seem to sum it up well.

Or a true story from a source. Its unlikely to have just been a rumour or conjecture, otherwise it would have been completely out of leftfield and swiftly followed by a legal threat and denial from ITV. The very fact that it turned out to be true, shows it was a true story from a reliable source and thus good journalism.
I suppose the expenses scandal or Watergate just became stories when people admitted they were true, did they?
If that's the case, let's never bother with official confirmation then. Let's just assume everything is true until told otherwise. I'm not saying unofficial stories can't be true, just that when they are officially confirmed it is worth reporting.
You claimed you first revealed it! You didn't.

A terribly sad thing for British boxing, and you can only think of yourself again.

Bennie, where have you been? It's not been the same without you. I've written an entire blog on why this situation is bad for boxing so I fully recognise the implications. Yes, this thread has become bogged down in technicalities but that is not solely down to me – but of course I realise you live and breathe to bash BN and its employees; it's your role, I understand. Why don't you give us your insight and feelings over the ITV (and Setanta) issue? If you truly believe that's the real issue (as I do) then resist the strong temptation to bite back at me and tell us your thoughts?

Back to the point at hand, have to say I cannot really remember many times that Hennessey had major pull outs from his ITV shows. And in the cases where there has been a very acceptable replacement has been found.
Henessey has been far an away (IMO) the best promoter in 2008/2009 for competitive bills and UNDERCARDS.
I think the problem though has stemed from Froch winning the world title. ITV, partly due to the huge financial crisis they are facing, want to have their cake and eat it. They WANT Froch to fight live on a Saturday night prime time in Nottingham. They also want the bill to be as cheap as possible... that means - substandard opposition that US TV will not be interested in. Froch/Hennessey don't want that (understandable).
Its actually because Carl Froch is doing the right thing and showing ambition that has killed off this deal. Not becuase of substandard opponents and pull outs.
When is the last time you have ever heard a TV company nix a fight for being substandard - in the UK. In the US, yes plenty of times. In the UK only the BBBoC really nix such a fight. I bet you the bosses at ITV prefered Calzaghe vs Ashira to Calzaghe vs Lacy.
And I am sure thats why Sky took back Mr W. Cause actually, in a strange way, mis matches is what they are looking for.... well cheap options dressed in a title. Thats what all the UK TV companies are looking for.
BTW on a side note, I hope Mr W is sleeping well now with the 200 people made reduntant at Setanta - sure he didn't have a major impact on the broadcasters downfall, but certainly didn't help matters.

I don't live and breathe to bash BN, you just make it too easy with its repeated shoddiness and illiteracy. You should be ashamed but pride is cheap - too cheap in your case. That's quite ironic because the student's rag is repulsively expensive.

first:
with no ITV or Setanta boxing fans are screwed..SKY's coverage is hopeless...why bother having pre and post fight analyses when it is obvious they follow SKY's hidden agenda?
second:
all you BN knockers should think again..where else can you find all the boxing news you need? not from any daily rag...the daily papers have virtually washed their hands of the sport..the only time I see fight coverage is in a certain rag that has close connections to SKY and that fight is or has been shown on SKY!
If you can do better than BN bring your own mag out!

Lol, I'm happy enough here, the intelligent posters far outweigh people like Bennie (figuratively speaking). I just want to stick to the thread topic, which seemed to be what Bennie wanted five or six posts ago. ITV, not me, not BN, ITV. It won't happen though.
