the press release says no further payments will be taken- so you should be fine. No point asking the bank to "block it" as they can't do that.

UFC pulled out of Setanta this morning before they went into administration. They will find a new home before UFC100

As has been widely reported in various media channels, Setanta Sports has had its agreement to broadcast 46 Barclays Premier League matches in the UK terminated.
This development does not affect our channels and other services in the US.
Setanta Sports in the US is a separate operation that has separate agreement to show the Barclay’s Premier League. Our channels and other services in the US continue to broadcast and our subscribers can still enjoy our programming including the Lions Tour of South Africa and the UEFA U21 European Championship.
New customers are welcome to subscribe to watch some of the world’s best soccer and rugby either by contacting our cable and satellite partners or online at
www.setanta.com.
We thank you for your continued interest in Setanta Sports and look forward to bringing you a wealth of sport over the coming months and years.
Above for anyone outside uk.

Working in finance I would recommend that you cancel it just to be safe.

I agree, best way is to ask for a new card at the bank, i know its a pain but its better to be safe, its your hard earned money after all.

Tough time it may be, but I'm sure they will be in talks with Sky, if not already!

Frustrating that it couldn't have gone on Monday after the Abraham and Juanma bills.

There was a thread about this a couple of weeks ago- the bank can do nothing about monthly card subscription payments.
However, cancelling the card itself (say its lost) might work- but even in some cases (so my bank told me) payments could still be taken if they are below a threshold. All sounds crackers!
You CAN dispute a transaction.

If Bunce was smart he'd make a website and put out his weekly boxing show as a free stream.
However, where is the money going to come from.

Adverts. He could also sell tickets to upcoming shows, possibly in conjunction with boxers.
Wouldn't make a great lot of money at first, but better than nothing, no?

I hate UFC on tape delay, live was much better.

Wonder if we can still get Setanta Ireland in the North? It blocks all the good stuff anyway.
Setanta spent themselves into the ground I think :(

Sky wanted it before Setanta got hold of it. I'm sure they will step in and probably put UFC 100 on SBO

Latest I heard is ESPN and Bravo are in negotiations for UFC (
http://www.ifight365.com/2009/06/ufc-espn-uk-update/), lets hope we get something similar for boxing also.
Maybe buncey can persuad the BBC to let him take over the 5live boxing show and they can get the podcast going.
It is a sad horizon at the moment and the prospects of seeing grass roots boxing is sadly going. I do watch the boxing shoe on Channel M and maybe this is one way for local boxing to carry on getting exposure.

I thought Setantas presentation & coverage was every bit as gash as Sky, so dont care really, other than the poor guys who have lost their jobs obviously.
So am i going to keep getting charged that tenner every month or will that stop dead?
