Instead he's now looking at boxing for relative chump change.

If Haye wasn't injured , then it may of been worth the gamble to of taken on Wlad.
in some ways it's not such a bad thing for haye all this.

he can fight here in england and get some money into his promotional set up.

he's the main draw and he's not had a fight since last year.

time to bring in an opponent and bash him up. :box:
Haye definitely needs an impressive name, or an impressive performance, or both. Bowling over some stiff however may not cut it and he could find himself left out in the cold. I think Wlad is pissed off with the pull out by Haye, right or wrong, and like it or lump it, Wlad is calling the shots, not Haye,.

Wlad doesn't need Haye.

Haye against most heavyweights is a pick um because of his chin. If he fought a McCline/McCall/Chambers/Peter, there is a good chance he'll lose because of his poor chin. If he lost to a fighter of their calibre, he'd be done. He really got lucky getting that shot at Wlad and he blew it himself. If I was him, I would have taken my chance and fought Wlad for peanuts. And if he gets beaten by a McCall type next, I'll be happy because imo, he should have had the balls to back up his talk and get on with it.

He should shoot for Peter or Lamon Brewster. If he's the real deal he should dominate both.

Haye's done a lot of talking/promoting and every fight's going to be a risk. If he's going to fight someone, it needs to be someone that a loss against isn't going to completely derail his credibility as a heavyweight threat.

If he's going to fight someone, assuming the Klits, Valuev and Povetkin are tied up, and if Arreola's people cant be persuaded by HBO, it should be the likes of Eddie Chambers, Samuel Peter, Lamon Brewster (Klitschko angle could be hyped) or Alexander Dimitrenko. A loss in that company wouldn't be as bad as a loss in veteran company.

If Haye really wanted to appeal to new fans he could take on Ruiz, and with a bit of luck, pull a Tua on him. Bad match-up though imo.

Other fights that should be avoided - Juan Carlos Gomez, Kevin Johnson (think he's fighting Solis next anyway) and any of the brit circuit, Williams, Harrison, etc.
I think Peter, poop as he is, is a bit of a live dog yet - he can still punch and he's still a bit of a brick wall. Gomez has skills and could embarrass haye. It's winnable for Haye, but Gomez is not without ambition himself and is a former top flight amateur.
Peter would be right there for Haye to tee off on with pinpoint bombs, I'd definitely worry about the possibility of Peter physically overwhelming him against the ropes at some point though. Plus a repeat of the Williams KO would be a hard loss to regroup from.

I still think that anyone who offers Haye a relatively static target will get stopped and probably quite early. With the size disparity, it could be a very pretty highlight reel KO.

Still think an Arreola fight could be made with the right goading from Haye and a helping hand from HBO, who seem to be very much pro Haye.

Fighting Wladimir for nothing was stupid, because Haye had a 3-fight deal with K2 and we can only assume (prove me wrong if you please) that Haye would've got his purse from Setanta solely for all three fights. And with Setanta going bust and no TV deal set up, do you believe Haye should've fought Wladimir twice and Vitali once for nothing whatsoever?

Why not get him in with Maskaev or the winner of chambers v dimintrinko (sp), push him up the ratings in both bodies. Whether any of those 3 would risk a ranking is another question.

The tall fella should he beat Fast Eddie would be good prep, plus he will have to wait for Povetkin anyway.

Haye does get hit though. He was dropped by Barret who is hardly like quicksilver, and he was decked and hurt by Mormeck who was also very slow.

I don't see Arreola risking his ranking against Haye.

I'm sure he would have gotten more than Setanta money but maybe not a great deal. Still it would have been a good bit of money imo.

If he fights a Chambers or Peter and gets beaten (which would probably happen), it will be no less than he deserves. He KOs Wlad and he's in pole position.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Fury KO Haye. Haye is going to have to get in line now and fight some heavyweights in order to get his shot at Wlad and I don't know if he is going to be able to beat them. Mock had him down for christs sakes

Don't make me laugh. Fury is a fatter and shitter version of Enzo Maccarinelli. Haye would destroy him very quickly and very dramatically. I'd worry for Fury's health if he ever sparred Haye, let alone actually fought him!

You seriously overrate Haye. He has been hurt by a middleweight in lolenga mock. He has had 6 rounds at heavyweight... fury has been fighting as a heavyweight all his life. Fury has shown good power to me, a good jab and a good right, either punch would damage Haye imo. I said I wouldn't be surprised to see Fury beat Haye and I stand by that. You're talking as if it would be a mismatch, which tells me you are quite biased when it comes to Haye.

Haye's been sparring a bigger and better fighter in Price.

Fury's looked wide open to me in almost every outing, someone like Haye would make short and spectacular work of him.

I'd have no qualms about coughing up for it on PPV though, perhaps they could fight for a Sky deal on behalf of Hennessey and Hayemaker. Winner gets lion's share of the coverage for their promoter. :TU:

But then what about Tyson Fury? If Haye wants McCall then he needs to get in line :D :box:

If I was Haye I would genuinely abandon the UK and bid to get in with a Stateside promotional outfit such as Golden Boy given the current state-of-play.
While Haye wouldn't constitute 'home-grown' talent the US is surely open to 'adopting' him given his star quality/charisma and the glaring absence of any US-born fighters who have genuine world-class credentials.
I could genuinely see him becoming an attraction out there, based on the assumption of him being able to deliver in the ring.

jesus h christ there is shit being spouted here.. firstly Mcline came out of retirement to get splattered by Arrelola .. looked fat and out of shape and there for the payday and efectively quit on his knee. No point fighting him. No stock in it.

2nd eddie chambers just beat peter so again fighting a heavy coming off a loss aint gonna set the world on fire again little or no stock in it. Fighting chambers would be a good call light hitting hheavy who isnt as mobile as haye but he looks like he is tied up.

As for the suggesting fury, we are talking an ex unified cruiserweight champ vs a 6 fight novice it wouldnt go two rounds. Yes haye got flash kd'd by mock in his 8th fight or so, but that was ages ago and he has since moved up in class and temprement........different animal now. Hayes chin isnt as bad as is being made out here. The Mock kd was high on the head and haye was bending down into the punch, against thompson he was never ko'd he kept getting up and was exhausted more than his chin letitng him down after going out too fast in the first three rounds. Against mormeck he got straight up and was fine and blasted back to unify the titles in Paris.

Tyson fury are you lot fornicating mental? :KO: Seriously need to take a look at yourselves if you are suggesting fury as credible opponent.

Got a new fighter to slag off now have we Lirva seeing has hatton has more or less retired? Oh wait a mintue Fury has Irish heritage doesnt he? And you accuse others of bias :witzend: :shame:

yup would be perfect mate. Id fancy haye to demolish (not so) fast eddie, watched him on espn out here against peter, man talk about plodding pair of fat heavies.

dreadful.

though haye needs to get active he hasnt fought enough of late and thats a massive understatement.
