It's especially easy to look great defensively when your last two opponents haven't thrown punches back!

fagan came out thinking he was going to be able to do the same think as prescott. He ran over and tried to knock khan out, khan had his chin tucked in and his hands up, fagan bounced off him like he was trying to hit a rock. Now while im not saying fagan has the power or record of prescott. There was a massive noticeable difference.

And with barrera we saw the same think he kept his chin tucked in and his hands up whenever barrera came forward throwing. And when khans going forward he throws bombs in clusters and his opponents cant throw anything back.

Khan didnt need to change his technique or learn to box, he just needed to know when to keep his chin protected.

He is obviously going to be fighting against a higher class of opponent in coming fights, you can't tell me he isn't going to get hit on the button ever again! believe me when he does it will be the exact same result as the Prescott fight.

From Joe's facebook:
Rumours circulating about John murray vs Amir Khan the response by everyone at the moment shows even if this is only a rumour at moment that the excitement this match up makes proves this fight has to happen in the future with proper build up and notice ! MEN arena will be rocking, just what British Boxing needs !!!! STYLE VS SUBSTANCE !

I'm surprised at the amount of people tipping Murray is this fight comes off. I can only see a fairly comfortable win for Khan by late stoppage or lop-sided points decision. Murray lacks the head movement and speed to seriously challenge Khan IMO.

some ppl can only see khan's speed and alleged "style."

what happens to him if he gtes winded by some brutal body shots and slows down?

I agree that speed isn't everything. Khan's physical attributes are the same now as they were in the Gomez fight but Gomez got to him.

It's got more to do with Khan staying in centre ring and boxing to plan under pressure. Murray brings heavy, heavy pressure.

Thats the big question. As I posted on another thread about Khan-Kotelnik, Khan is absolutely devastating when things go his way and he can settle into a rhythm. Through most of his career he has been able to bully his authority in a fight early on and keep ahead with little coming back the other way.
Chin issues or not, what alarmed me most about the Limond and Gomez fights was how Khan becomes like a rabbit in the headlights as soon as he is taken out of his comfort zone. The fast accurate combos become wild slugging haymakers and the chin is exposed. If he has matured enough to keep a level head when the script gets altered then yeah he's definitely got the tools to beat Murray.
But Murray will not turn up and allow Khan to reel off blistering combinations with little or no reply. He will get some digs in and make Khan work hard. That's when it'll get interesting.

Will Mr W arren take the fight for his biggest asset?

Will Team Khan put pressure on Mr W arren to take the fight?

Has Kotelnik withdrawn yet?

Etc etc etc - lots of questions to be answered!!!

One thing for sure - all of these rumours concerning withdrawls surrounding a big show is doing no good for boxing!!!

Stop f*cking around - tell the public what the score is and then let them decide one whether they will buy a ticket - or whether they want to buy the PPV!!!

All of this b*llocks and rumours surrounding who Khan will or will not box is sh*te!!!

It's not so much that, it's more that I haven't seen anything in Murray to suggest he's the man to upset the Khan 2.0 model. On the occasions I've watched him he's had an upright style with zero head movement and has seemed far too easy to hit as a result. That coupled with his lack of speed in relative terms makes he think that while Khan will still come unstuck as some point, Murray will not be the man to make this happen.

Rumours that Amir Khan's rearranged world-title fight against Andreas Kotelnik is off have been rubbished by allegedly Promotions.

The bout was initially scheduled for Saturday but has been put back three weeks and moved to the MEN Arena after Kotelnik suffered a mouth infection.

And rumours have since surfaced on boxing forums that the fight is off and Khan will now be matched against either John Murray or Shane Mosley.

But in a statement, allegedly Promotions described the claims as "totally false and without merit" and said they "should be disregarded".

The statement added: "Dean Powell, matchmaker at allegedly Promotions, has spoken to Hedi Taouab and Stefan Braune at Universum, the promoter of Kotelnik, and they have denied these rumours."

I really do not care who it is - I want to see Amir Khan beaten - on the strict condition he is okay afterwards - another Breidis Prescott style defeat would be rather nice - I cannot stand Khan.

Just out of interest, why is this? He does give a really positive image for boxing and comes across as a nice fella, i just can't seem to find anything to hate besides his matchmaking.
