thanks for the post, for a boxer who is, down to fight on a card and 2 weeks before gets nicked for drinking driving he is training really well, maybe this is why he does not fight that much any more the injurys could be a smoke screen for his drinking habits???????

I cannot believe people on her cannot get it into their heads that any related topic to boxing will be discussed including drink driving offences.

I have had few disagreemnets with Ian in the past but he is a genuine poster who shows not one ounce of mallice towards anyone, he just isn't the type.

Anyone would think he was the idiot who got pissed and then took to the wheel.

A whole family was wiped out by a drink driver in my village when i was growing up. The kids, a brother and sister, where at the same school in the year above me - so i know all too well the impact of someone getting sloshed and getting behind the wheel.

It's quite odd that someone is getting more stick for starting a thread with a news story in it than a professional athlete in the public eye is for getting behind the wheel whilst over the limit

Indeed, I've seen the effects of it as well, coming home from the pub one night saw a young woman left completely disabled after some pisshead mounted the path in his Jag. A girl who lived down the street from me as a kid was killed by a drink driver as well.

Any future posts on this thread questioning why Ian will be edited and warnings dished out.

Jermain Pennant, wore a tag after being jailed for drinking driving a SECOND time.

Naz Hamed, he ran away from a car crash - why? we can only speculate as to why someone would leave an accident. Got jailed.

It's all relevant, hardcore boxing fans want to know more about the fighters they follow than just what happens in the ring.

Naz ran away because the long line of drivers he had overtaken like a lunatic prior to the accident had stopped at the crash scene and were all gunning for a fight.

I find this sort of stuff boring, these days, reminiscent of the gutter press. Maybe it belongs on a forum and maybe it does not. Personally, I think the poster who headed a recent thread, "Boxer in Trouble", did the right thing. That way you can choose to read it or not.

Whatever some of the posters on here think , i did genuinely start this thread to show what was going on with one of Britains top boxers, in hindsight maybe it wasn't a good idea.
