I'll be doing my best to keep everyone informed. I'll try to post the bout sheets each day and see if I can get some officials to help me with results. I'll do what I can but the first few days will be crazy.

No pressure, DC, but if we don't get full, TV quality coverage of this tournament, we'll all be disappointed in you.

I can't tell you there are 1,300 boxers here from all of the US (as far as Alaska) and from Mexico, Ireland, Jordan, Puerto Rico, Australia just to name some of the international representation. . .

This pic was just one half of the coaches meeting for those that haven't been to the RWC. Very well organized and efficient. http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak ... 7417_n.jpg

Not reallly any. Couple of our local guys (I had 2 boxers going) and Manny Rojas. The the 15-16 112lbs. is pretty loaded. . .on one side of the bracket alone is Ray Ximenez, Pedro Duran and Shawn Simpson. Looking at all the brackets, things will start heating up tomorrow. There were a lot of byes and a lot of open fights to get done today, but no one that I recognized for the most part. There are divisions with 40+ boxers like Open 152lbs., so the first two days are going to shake out and I think there will be a lot of bouts that I want to see. If there is someone that you want me to record, just PM me and I'll try.

I'll put brackets up in the morning after weigh-ins. So about 9:30 or 10am KC time.

I'll post championship brackets tomorrow am. The start at 11am local time. I don't have full results but I can tell you some of the boxers that I know won. In order of just my memory. All boxers advance to Saturday's Championship. One thing to note is that Open bouts were 3 two minute rounds. Finals will be 3 three minutes. Fights didn't end on Thurs until almost midnight, so the 15/16 Open bouts were changed to 1 1/2 minutes too. These are just from memory. . .

132lbs. Open - Ernie Garza won a pretty competitive bout over Derrick Murray of St. Louis. Saw Garza twice this week. First time live and he just stays constantly busy.

In my favorite bout of the night at 15/16 112lbs. Ray Ximenez beat Shawn Simpson - Simpson moved up from 106 at the JOs to enter a bracket that was loaded (Simpson, Ximenez, Pedro Duran, etc). Simpson was punching and moving well in the first, but in the 2nd and 3rd Ximenez took it to another level and body work broken Simpson down.

Javonta Charles beat Hasim Rahman Jr.- Charles is an extremely awkward boxer and tangled Rahman up, who was clearly frustrated at the "style" of Charles. I can't knock his effectiveness as he beat Nick Kisner the night before, but it was a foul filled, wrestling match - but Charles to say Charles makes his fights ugly is an understatement.

Ed Brown at 141lbs. Open won

Melissa Roberts won at 125lbs. Open over Nana Yoshikawa - body work paid off for Roberts in the later rounds.

Dusty Harrison at 15/16 141lbs. Open beat Khalid Billings from NYC

Luis Arias advanced at 165lbs. Open

Pretty sure Josh Berrelleza advanced at

Kareem Martin won (Current NSG Champion)

D'Andres Hockerson won at 13/14 95lbs. (runner up at last years NSG)

Jerry Odom won (JO Champion)

D'mitrius Ballard beat Julius Butler

Julian Rodriquez won

Damon Allen Jr. advanced

Roscoe Hill IV advanced

Queen Underwood beat Shardae Powell

DC - how about the "bracketology" for the open classes?
How about the bout sheets for today's finals?
It is nice to know who won, but it is even better to know who they boxed to get there. Even better, is when we get the results along with short details about the bouts. The best is when we get all of it along with some video footage!!!
