Rob, why don't you give it a rest?

Irene is gonna supply the light entertainment this week. She'll run through the whole range of female emotions, hopefully ending in tears again.

And, remember, you egging her on means you are as much to blame as me. So when you start the sanctimonious preaching, really let the hypocricy shine on through.

Me too, Rob.

Hang on, I was being good.

I was posting about boxing (as requested by granberry).

Then that Irene woman attacked me for no reason.

I hate drunks.

GI has stated on numerous threads that he is a fellow non drinker of
the devils water.

So perhaps his drunk nature comes from your intoxicating charm :)

She's said a lot of things that I am inclined to take with a pinch of salt.

Any PM's from granberry to share now he is sharing yours with us?

I dont really have any good ones. He never answered my direct questions
re Johnson and Young for example.

The messages he has shared are well.... what he has shared. ;)
I think their is still love in Granberry's heart. He just is reluctant to open up.

He certainly hasn't shown any desire to respond to your repeated overtures, Kym.

I've decided not to be counted out due to my youth and inexperience. I feel that a younger person (such as myself) should not be intimidated by elders.

I bet on Ali against Foreman. At the time, my son asked me for a prediction. I told him I was predicting Ali by decision. Lucky for me my bet was a winner bet, because I really didn't think Muhammad would stop George.

Ive got the dvd version and a copy of the follow up show he did Glory Of The Geeks, which is about the start of the internet, remeber another show Cringely did for channel 4 where he tried to build a plane in 2 weeks, that was entertaining as well but Ive not managed to track a version of that down since.

Like most everyone else, I thought Foreman had become an unstoppable force and would take out Ali by round 5.

One factor I remember thinking about before the fight happened was the one month delay caused by a Foreman cut in training. I recall wondering whether one or the other had peaked for the original fight date and would be thrown off by the postponement. Another thing I remember thinking about was the strange time of day for the fight. Unless I'm just not remembering right, I think this fight went off at something like 4 a.m. Africa time.

Yeah, that's one of the excuses occasionally trotted out to try to detract from Ali's amazing victory.

Some might use it as an excuse now, but it was discussed before the fight. I can specifically recall discussing it in the gym and boxing office, as well as reading some articles speculating about it. We pondered what impact it might have on Ali, but the discussion centered more about the impact on Foreman, since George had never gone through the situation of having a big fight postponed right in the middle of training because of an injury.
