Bob Fitzsimmons is both from a Irish Family (Fitzsimmons, the youngest of 12 children, was born in Helston, Cornwall in the UK. His father was James Fitzsimmons, born in County Armagh, Ireland) and did something no other Irish Boxer came even close to acheiving by being Middle, Light Heavy and Heavyweight World Champion.
Both McLarnin and Monaghan were born pre partition.BigEars wrote:I'd assume we're talking on an All-Ireland basis.Londonirish wrote:Hagler2002 wrote:Northern Ireland or the Republic?

I dont know any thing about Rinty Monaghan but he lost to a No bouter when he had 40 plus Fights, and the No bouter went on to be KO'd in his next fight, losing 7 winning 6 and a draw.
Just by going by this i acnt see how he was the Best??
