I think he said as much himself once.

I bet he's had a few nice chunks of money here and there, but is not rolling round in a £400k house with a selection of nice cars and enough in the bank never to work again - infact i bet he's far from it.

Which is a shame, as some sh*te footy players warming the bench in the championship earn more in a month than some of our top fighters earn in 2 title fights.

If i could choose my son to become a legendary boxer or a legendary footy player... i'd choose footy.

Despite the fact i hate the cretinous game plus the cretins that participate in it, but because they earn ridiculous sums of money.

(plus i could chat up his WAG :D )
Spot on Gomez, pro footie players are very lucky these days, they don't have to win ANYTHING in their whole careers and can still make a few million and that's just the lower-end premiership players.

It is sad compared to many other sports but footie got all the Sky millions and boxing in particular has suffered in the last 10 years compared to the mid-90s heyday.

As for Witter, yep he never seemed to do enough to gain a fanbase out of the ring and disappointed in a couple of key times in his career where a good performance and good KO would have won him fans, it's a shame as there was so much potential with certain parts of his style and power. He's obviously not gona be skint from boxing but he;s the sort of guy who's not gona be retiring on his winnings either.
