Really? Name one time where was dropped by a single shot when he was anywhere near his prime? Quarry hit him about 50 times before he dropped, and Lyle was outfought before Shavers ran out of gas and got stopped. He was well past it against Sims, who was an extremely hard hitter himself. Care to mention any other fights?

You can take just about any fighter and do pretty much the same thing that you did with Shavers. Yes Shavers was not a great fighter, but unlike you I actually give points for results, and for all of your pontificating, you can’t take away the impressive string of wins.

Anyone who says that Shavers couldn’t have won a title in any era either doesn’t understand the sport, or just isn’t thinking clearly.

But he did "have" the title as I recall. Win is an interesting word here. If it was given to him that's still a "win" right? And in boxing that may be the biggest win of all. No bumps or bruises but your the champ? I'd call that a win.

But he never fought a winning championship fight right?
