You can say the Barrera fight finished him off
But he was getting more and more inactive anyway after all the success and money he made
He went fromm fighting 5 times a year to 2 times a year and in 2001 and 2002 the final 2 years of his career he fought 1 time per year

As I have said before he was ignoring trainer's advice and taking unnecessary shot's just to get his own power shot's off, This is what finished him not the Barrera fight......
Classic mistake, I seem to remember a certain Mike Tyson making exactly the same one!
