FLINT ISLAND wrote:Enzo Maccarenellis career will continue later this year when he fights in Liverpool Echo Arena.
However his career looks on the decline and he looks to be on the downward slide.
It all started with the make or break fight with David Haye where he was blasted away in 2 rounds.
Since then his confidence seems to have suffered and the Calzaghe training camp with the reitrement of Joe Calzaghe fell apart and at one stage he was training by himself lifting beer barrels ina nightclub.
He switched trainers to Karl Ince to try and find the improvement.
However including the Haye fight he has now been stopped in 3 of his last proper fights (ignoring the Matthew Ellis mismatch).
But just how good was a Prime Enzo.
We know what happened when he stepped in the ring with Haye.
But lets say Enzos prime was when he joined the Calzaghe Camp and seem to have made vast improvement.
His prime wins were when he blasted away Mark Hobson in a rematch and when he flattened Dominguez with a huge uppercut and outpointed Wayne Braithwaite by a wide points decsion.
That Maccarenelli was at the height his confidence and talking about unifying WBC / WBA / IBF titles.
Take Haye out of the equation who seemed to be the man who destroyed Macca's career.
How would a prime Enzo before he got hammered by Haye how would he have fared against the likes of...............
Jean Marc Mormeck
O Neil Bell
Frogemeni
Steve Cunnigham
BJ Flores
etc
etc
Have you considered therapy or counselling?

Well he is a ok fighter
Main reason why I got added interest in Enzo cause he is a local fighter from Swansea
Dont have many fighters coming up and fighting for World titles from Swansea

when I say a glass chinned jounreyman I mean at world level
up to British / Euro level he is a decent operator
but up at World level - he is not in that class

But what if he was managed a bit less ambtious and went in with the lesser Champions
I still think Mormeck would have had too much for him and stopped him in about 5 rounds................
you broke it down in depth one or two weeks ago........started answering your own posts because everybody got too BORED of your thread so it died on its a*se.
Now you're back with another and noone gives a sh*t still you moron.

I broke it down in depth that Enzo was a overhyped Euro fighter and that Haye was a class above.
However I never discussed how he would fare against other top crusierweights.
In this thread I have - and I gave my view that Mormeck and Cunnigham would have stopped him.
But I wanted to know what other posters view was.
Because even after Enzo was destroyed by Haye there were many people still saying that now that Haye had gone up to crusierweight Enzo could go out and clean up all the other belts.

I am guilty of being a attention whore........just just a online joke persona .
However I loved boxing for years and I have a vast knowledge of the sport from the 1990's onwards - ---

I agree
Apart from maybe Frogemeni who is a light puncher - I seriously think a prime Enzo has a chance of knocking him out although I would make the Italian the slight favorite there.
