the act wears thin and it is obnoxious. Most of what he writes I disagree with and he is not the authority on boxing he thinks he is. To him Tommy Ryan is God and would have beaten any middleweight.

The character he has created with the booze, hat and cigar is one of the most corny things I have ever seen in my life and
is gut wrenching. Why hasn't someone snatched the bloody hat of his head already on camera.

Percheco truly was the most obnoxious non stop wind bag of them all though. Almost to the point of being a lunatic according to
people who worked with him behind the mike. No one knew anything but him and when they let him go he went off the deep end.

Ferdie Pacheco is the obvious choice because not only is a Ali suck-up he's also an absolute moron. I remember once on Showtime Zab Judah scoring and 3rd round knockout and he says " That's the fastest knockout in the 3rd round I've ever seen " What an idiot.

Pacheco was good for the odd one-liner, though. I remember on a telecast for a Ricardo Lopez bout (was it the first outing with Alvarez, maybe?) he was talking about being the foyer of some Hotel, & said, "People mistook me for Larry Merchant. It may've been the low point of my life."



I often wonder what Merchant, renowned for speaking his mind irrespective of consequence, would have retorted, had he been present for that one.
