This is so true. I interviewed her about 15 years ago and she was really nice, but just a real 'salt of the earth' type. Didn't take herself too seriously and was genuinely committed to her boxing career.
I remember one classic anecdote she told me about where she got involved in a fight in a pub in Fleetwood (where she was brought up) and a fella headbutted her... and only succeeded in knocking himself out

she still lives in fleetwood thats how ive met her

She was living in Bristol when I met her and training with Tex Woodward.

Sorry fella, wasn't doubting you - was just explaining why I'd said that she grew up in Fleetwood i.e. at the time I met her she'd moved down to Bristol. As I've said, that was 15 years ago, so don't doubt for a second that she's moved back in the interim

Jane actually frightened me when i saw her on TV, but in real life at a few Hatton do's she's been a really nice person, very warm and outgoing.

Jane and Nick Hodges run Blackeye promotions, which have been taken on as a part of the Hatton consortium, essentially they are both working closely with Hatton

Jane lives in bristol and rents a place of tex. With regards to hatton it is him who phones at 2am
from luton and gets jane to rush over and babysit, this happens plenty. I would certainly have her on my side in any sort of a fight. Her boxers get well looked after often she go's without so they don't. As a small hall promoter she works harder than most, she has a show on 4th october
All this and she is facing major surgery. But still this tough old bitch has a smile on her face.

She's a very hard trainer according to a mate; he wasn't her greatest fan

. I've seen her hugging people at shows, though.

Hey guys Sorry if anyone thinks ive got a chip on my shoulder or doesnt come across well in interviews but i do my best laugh Im from a Working class background with no education and they only thing i know is boxing and its the only think i care about
I had 42 pro fights won 5 world titles and gave up 16 years of my life to the sport wether i,m the best of not time will tell I boxed the best in the world in there own backyards at a few days notice and enjoyed everyone of them i was on the undercard to lennox Naz Roy Jones
I am now promoting and have promoted 21 small pro shows and everyone who has boxed on my shows have been treated with respect and treated properly I have made some great friends in the game and can work with anybody
I just want the best for the lads i promote and i actually care about all of them Watcha out for danny Butler i promoted all of his fights except the prizefighter where he lost in the semis to Martin Murray He is a good young lad and will be in some big fights in the next year He boxes darren McDermott for the English on nov 13th and hopefully if he gets past darren will go on to a British title
As for hugging people thats me i,m very tactile dont know why but i am But i can promise you all I have never had a realonship with anyone in the boxing world and never will
I have a lot of friends and respect in the boxing world and just love the game
Hope this clears a few things up to the people who doesnt know me But the ones who do know me know i,m alright and thats all that matters cheers Jane Hope you all like the username i had a bet with someone that i would use that name laugh i dont take myself or life to seriously Its too fragile x

I have to add my 2p's worth to this.
I have been in and around boxing for nearly 25 years, I know 95% of the promoters and most trainers. I have worked many many shows and I have to admit Jane is in my top 5 of the promoters in the Country. She has a passion for her fighters that is rarely seen as anyone who has been to one of her shows will know SHE FIGHTS EVERY ROUND with her fighters offen being told off by officials for being to loud

.
As a person what you see is what you get, she makes time for everyone and tries in my opinion to hard to please them all. The relationship she has with Hatton is very genuine and believe me she is NOT like a fly around Shite
![[icon_shame.gif] :shame:](./images/smilies/icon_shame.gif)
I once shared a lift with her a Ricky and they had me in Stiches, that said someone let one off and it brought tears to my eyes

I still think it was Jane but she blamed some big bloke in black
The one thing she is crap at is Karaoke
![[icon_e_surprised.gif] :oo](./images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif)
DO NOT LET HER SING....
