I suppose everybody has noticed that the same day Green and Jones fight, Hopkins fights former Sam Soliman victim Enrique Ornelas in the USA. Ornelas has improved. Boxrec rate him no 13 middleweight.
What happens to the grand plans if Jones and Hopkins both lose? Just a thought.

I seen Ornelas fight against Rubio and thought he done enough, but i can't see him geting anywhere near BHOP.
I'm glad Jones(1 of my fave fighters) is cocky and looking past Green(Fave fighter also), could work in favour of Green.

Green has never been KOed as a pro. Jones has been KOed twice.

this fight will go down exactly how the green - mundine fight went down...hardly any difference. except the margin will be wider in jones' favor
surely this is obvious to everyone?

I can also see this happening and especially if Jones is in form (as best he can be for a 40 YO, anyway)

It could do, But then again Roy hasnt been using his footwork much in his last few fights. His handspeed is still the same but Feet are no where near the same.
Mundine boxed and moved to beat Green. If Roy stands on the ropes like he did against Lacy, It will play into Greens hands. Green has genuine power and could KO Jones with one clean punch. Which makes this fight pretty interesting.
Jones would have to be the Favorite, But Green has a decent chance. I would say Green has more power than both Tarver and Johnson who both KOd Jones.

yea it should be good and closer than people think, green punches hard and roy cant move around the ring as well as he used to, if green put him down jones doesnt get back up so scould be lights out from 1 knock down unless greens power has dimished

I dont think the fight will be exactly like Green v Mundine. Yes there will be one fighetr (Green) stalking his opponent and the other boxing, but it won't be a weight drained Green who had very little on his punches. If Green gets to work on RJJ as he did in stages of the Mundine fight he will wear RJJ down. He has awesome power (which was lacking in the Munidne fight). There were times in the Mundine fight where choc stood on the ropes and Green hit to the body with no effect....if Green gets his chance to do this in the RJJ fight, it will have effect !!!

This cat doesn't think it's obvious, Jones Jnr IMO is the best fighter in the last 20 years but is not the same fighter he once was.
His ability to move for 12 rounds isn't there anymore, otherwise everyone would be calling Calzaghe a bum, which I think would have been proven had he fought Roy a few years earlier...or if Slappy was willing to fight IMO the number 1 LT heavy Dawson.
I think Danny can win this, but do admit this type of fighter is his achillies.

RJJ won't fight Green the way he fought Lacy, he does what he has to do. He put a whooping on Lacy that way because he could. He knows Green is a different kettle of fish and he will bring the appropriate game plan to for this fight.

I'm amazed RJJ has already cast his mind to the BHOP "mega fight" that shows a total lack of respect to the Machine!
Although both fighters are not "natural" crusrweights GREEN is much closer to his best weight and anyone who thinks the fight is going to mirror the mundine fight is in for a rude shock.
Obviously RJJ is still going to have the speed and "class" edge but when is the last time RJJ has faced someone with the power of Green? His chin is no where near what it was and i just cant see RJJ running and countering GREEN for 12 rounds!
Just thinking back to the great man Calzaghe who slapped him to death!! It will be a 1 or 2 punch combo from the MACHINE and its lights out....then where to for GREEN? The winner of JOHNSON V DAWSON Id like to see that!!
The longer the odds for the machine the better... I'll be dropping plenty on him.
