I'm actually tempted to go to the bookies and bet on Neil Perkins or Coleman Barrett for the simple reason I haven't seen them box.

Danny Williams is to lethargic and slow and doesnt get going these days.
Harrison meanwile has done fornicate all but can get away with his arm punches for a few rounds.

I am looking at trying to figure who wins Perkins v Hughes - having a couple of quid - might even put a couple on both of them to get a decent price and then see how the Semi Final goes!!!

I agree - the hype in Audley will return and it will be unbearable until he goes in with someone decent!!!

And I wonder if the winner trys to call out David Haye too!!!

I'm gonna stick 20squid on Coleman. Young, fresh, fit and brilliant odds. Probably be better off spending it on beer but I love a long shot.

Doors open at 7:30 don't they? I'll be having a cpl of beers local so am wondering what time is best to head there. to get as best a seat as possible.

Yes, Danny Williams is always fit and in condition according to Fearon and Williams.

Remember Williams on the Bunce boxing hour saying how up he was for the first fight with McDermmott - saying every fight is one fight closer to a world title and he cannot slip up.

Remember Williams post fight saying he cannot get motivated fighting the likes of McDermmott!

Whilst I know Danny has let the fans down on a few occasions - those heavyweights love to play tricks on the scales - I have seen one or two go onto the scales with allsorts in their pockets to bump up the weight!!! - this hype game that the heavyweights in particular like to play is very underrated you know - some boxers are beside themselves to get one up on their opponent - whilst I acknowledge there are some who dont give a sh*t.

Danny revved up for tonite..

Post by tonyevs »

Danny Williams seems well revved up for tonights Prizefighter.
I hope and pray Danny can back it up .. I`d love to see him win this and retire on a high .. the guy deserves it.
Mike Tyson-conqueror Danny Williams has promised to end Audley Harrison’s boxing career in tonight’s Prizefighter Heavyweights III event. British Champion Williams, 36, and former Olympic gold medalist Harrison, 37, are both in Barry Hearn’s latest eight-man, one-night tournament at London’s ExCel. The pair have met twice before with one victory each and could meet in a mouth-watering Prizefighter final. “If Audley doesn’t win Prizefighter then it will be the end of his career – he has to retire,” said Williams. “I want to finish his career and rightly so as he has been a professional for eight years and hasn’t achieved anything or won any titles.”
Williams continued, “Audley Harrison is known for his talking and if world titles were given out for talking then he would have won three or four of them. Prior to him turning professional we were cool but once he turned professional he started running his mouth off. He said he would win the British title in his first fight and started making derogatory statements about me.

“We’ve had punch-ups at weigh-ins and things have got bad so we’ve now become enemies. When I hear him talking about me it doesn’t upset me but when I’m tired I think about him and it does push me that little bit harder.”

“I’m so excited about this and it’s just been crazy,” added Williams, who has admitted his career could be on the line if he is not successful. “Apart from against Klitschko or Tyson, I haven’t experienced this buzz ahead of a fight – everyone is so excited. I’ve been a professional for 14 years and this Prizefighter night really gets me going. I just can’t wait to get in there.”

The quarter-final draw is 1. Scott Gammer v Coleman Barrett, 2. Danny Williams v Carl Baker, 3. Audley Harrison v Scott Belshaw, 4. Neil Perkins v Danny Hughes
Sadly - I get a feeling this tournament is going to favour Fraudley :(

I think Audley will win for sure. If i had alot of money i would put alot on him winning, with them odds its not worth it. No value really.
I want Williams to win but just cant see it. I dont think he will eithen get to the final to get hes revenge on audley. Hope im wrong though.

I think only a fool would eat humble pie if audley beats a load of novices and a fat, overweight, shot Danny Williams.
Exactly, this means nothing. As the blog on the BBC website said... Audley is fighting for 32K - thats all... and thats all it means in the grand scheme of things.

Sure it could mean a "bit" of a platform to go for the British title - but even winning the British title nearly 10 years after his last amateur fight isn't "humble pie" worthy. This means nothing on global terms.
The British Heavyweight title, not exactly a glittering accolade at the best of times, has now been severely devalued due to the huge paucity of talent and athleticism among British Heavyweights, and the fact that Audley hasn't even been able to win it in that Climate, shows just what a pathetic excuse for an 'Olympic Star' he is.

Audley has certainly got the easier half of the draw.
Shame Sprott had to pull out as he would face Harrison in the semi assuming it all goes to plan.

C'mon Danny, switch them all off in style!
