Good stuff, Alex. It's hard to believe it's a year since you posted your last fight. What weight are you fighting at?
By the way 16kg is a massive difference at any level of the sport so fair play for getting in there with him.

good to see a young Amateur boxer posting on here
I dont think you should worry too much as its only your 7th fight so i'd say just keep training and learning and hopefully you'll develop further.
If i did have a criticism i'd say your swinging your punches too much and falling into your opponent so if you keep doing that your gonna get KTFO eventually.
I wouldn't rush in so much with your punches, find your range, distance and timing with your jab first, thats probably the most important tool you have in boxing and everything else will follow behind a good jab as you can than set your opponent up for a straight right hand, hooks, uppercuts, combinations etc...
Infact i'd do alot of sparring where you only use jabs so you become comfortable using it and understand how important it is.
anyways hope this helps a bit and keep up the good work.
Cheers that's what my trainers have been saying use my jab and bring in combo's from the middle of the ring as im big for my weight. The boy I fought was akward he was southpal and held when I got inside. At the moment im 4-3 but I've fought the Scottish champ at my weight twice losing the 1st one on a split decision

Alex, my advice to you is that you're doing everything wrong.
The appropriate response to anyone offering constructive criticism over the internet is to call them MUHFUKKKKIN FAGGIT, say they are "haters" and call them out for a street fight, or better yet issue death threats.
Good luck!

Good luck with your boxing career Alex.

Hi Alex,
Great to see young boxers coming on and asking for advice, your obviously pretty dedicated. My advice for ya mate is to keep your elbows nicely tucked in, you were open to the body the whole fight, kepp your gloves nice and high, because they were everywere at times, and remember straight punches win you fights, and hooks and uppercuts finish fights. When your in the centre of the ring always throw jabs and crosses, when you or your opponent are on or near the ropes then unleash with the big hooks and uppercuts. Hope my advice is helpful mate, and i hope you stay dedicated, i had 6 amateur fights, i won them all, 5 of them by KO, so it was promising, but then i lost the dedication, and it was the biggest mistake of my life, i love going to boxing shows and watching on the tele, but hate the fact that it could of been me people were paying to watch, so stay dedicated mate and make sure you have no regrets.

Just a quick update; I was meant to be fighting at the Scottish at 46kgs (as there wasn't a category for me at 44kg) but again there was nobody my weight! Another disappointment!

That's the problem I'm too light I'm at the lowest weight class. My brother boxed Spence I think Sean Spence was his name.

Different place. Sean Spence boxes out of Queensferry I think it is. Must be frustrated putting in all the work in the gym with no fight at the end of it. As u get older ul get more bouts.

Tell me about it, I've been up every morning running for about 3 weeks, haven't missed training at the club for years and still can't get a fight! That's over 19 months since my last fight now

Nice one Alex - looking quite handy. Not a boxer, so can't offer you any advice really other than jab, jab, jab, jab. And jab. Don't eat shit food, stay well away from booze, and get plenty of kip.
Your spelling and grammar is pretty good for a 14 yr old these days too, so don't neglect your education either - do a cleverly!

I enjoyed that, Alex. You have long arms, quick hands and plenty of desire - yeah, a cracking little scrap.
PS: Your trainer needs to let you sit down between rounds.

Keep plugging away Alex. I've got a lot of respect for how you have stuck at it despite all the letdowns of the last 18 months or so.

I saw your fight at long last. You have a lot of talent, good fast hands.
And when I said I thought you were older it was certainly a compliment. I wouldn't have talked
as much sense (or had the writing skills) as you do when I I was 14.

Nice to see Alex win the Scottish Junior (born 95) 46Kg Title today.
Good win by a 13 point margin. A bit of showboating during both the introductions and during the contest, haha! Keep up the good work.

Thanks Craig, some top quality ring announcing!! I keep getting warned for the showboating but can seem to stop it haha. So happy with the result but didn't feel like I boxed all that great. It was a good day though some cracking fights!!
