I cannot believe you are only a young lad, your knowledge of boxing is immense for a lad of your age. You can tell you love the sport and your starting to fight am now so I will deffo be keeping an eye out for u in the future mate

your right about his age, very Mature
But i see the other way Davis starting off strong Then Napa taking over.. Davis has never been past 7 rounds, obviously been trainig hard and doing the rounds in Sparring etc.. Think with Napa having such a Bad performance in his last fight he'l be so up for this one... imo If Davis gets on his Boxing, hits and aint there for Napa's counters then he wins comfortably, if he trys to go toe to toe and stays in the one spot then Napa takes it.. Looking to be a Great fight...

Hi Guys, my first post....
This is an intriguing contest with Davies making the 1st defence of his British bantamweight title against the elusive former British and European champ Ian Napa. Napa is by far the more experienced of the 2 and has fought at a much higher level than his younger opponent with his last 7 fights being for one of the aforementioned titles.
This is a tricky contest with Napa the well rounded boxer mover taking on the much bigger, more powerful Davies (7 kos in 9 wins). Napas lack of power has no doubt hindered his career but I think he has done well in accomplishing what he has. In his last 2 fights though Napa seems to have been hit a lot more than he used to and maybe there are signs that the 31 year old may have reached his peak. On the other hand Davies will be hell bent on winning in his first defence and wants the Lonsdale belt to keep.
Davies is a fighter who has sometimes had to step in at late notice and also not fight at his ideal weight which he claims is bantam but has often fought above. With a full camp for this fight I think Davies will be well motivated and will wish to seize the moment that is available to him at this moment in his career. Davies sites Peter Culshaw as his boxing hero having trained with him early in his career and ironically it was Culshaw who handed Napa his only ever ko defeat.
Napa is very seasoned and there is a chance that he could maybe make Davies look a little wild and Crude but Im banking on Davies to overcome this with his youthful determination, I believe Davies is at a point in his career where it is up to him what happens next now that he has the belt and he will do everything within his power not to lose in his first defence, despite the tricky opposition - but Napa could well just about be ready for the taking.

Question for a few of you. Why are you so confident of a stoppage win for Davies? Dont you think you maybe getting a bit over excited a bit too early? I'm not saying Davies isn't good, I'm not saying Davies hasn't got power. He has/is both of those...But Napa is either being under estimated or not being given respect. Heres a guy who has boxed at top British & European level and the only time I can recall him being hurt and dropped just once in his career was againts Peter Culshlaw (think thats how you spell it, forgive if wrong!) quite a few years back when he wasn't dedicated or fit. Napa has not only shown his durability againts good, tough British, European level fighters since he has spars tough with top fighters from his weight to lightweight and doesn't get budged. I will bet any money with one of you that Davies will not stop Napa.

des- to answer that at leats my own opinion is that napa is maybe waiting for the 'one fight too many' and this could be it, i suppose i have the feeling he is bound to slow down sooner or later and the last time i saw him live (vs the french runner) he didnt look good.
also, personally, i think he will be pushed back on the ropes a bit too much and too stationary
although, i would take the point that Napa is more experienced than davies at this level, is much better defensively, and normally likes people to come straight at him (which davies is likely to do?)
des i found it very interesting, Power who's fought them both i think, thinks if davies sticks with his boxing he will win but if he tries to blast him out he will lose

decent debate lads can c totally were your both coming from and i believe its a 50/50 fight i to agree if gary does try for a war he may come unstuck wiich i no he isnt gonna do but on the other hand if napa has no power 2 hurt gary he may just think ill walk through him as he done with martin power so its a if but contest i just hope gary gets the win cheers lads

Another point I'll make is Napa's power is under estimated and his low stoppage percentage is decieving. I'm also sure Davies will be surprised at Napa's physical strength. One thing for sure, its going to be interesting. Young fresh hungry fighter V experianced cute skillfull.

he maybe strong but he wont be near as srong as gary especially when they have both had a good meal and plenty of fluids, i expect gary to prove the doubters wrong once again and show a certain boxing news writer that hes not keeping the belt warm for napa! 3 days to go!!!

Napa is much Stronger then his record show's thats without a Doubt.. Davis is very strong but lets wait and see how strong he is against Napa when both of them has to make 8s6, i think coming down so much will take it out of him, thats why i dont think he should mix it with Napa, coz Napa will Stop him, he fought Barrington Brown at a weight that he didnt struggle and drain him self to make the weight i think he was put over a few times in that fight fight?? Barrington Brown is also not a Puncher, Rocky Dean aint a puncher either and we know what happened when Davis fought him.. If Davis gets on his Boxing, use his height etc do what the Frence kid done which wont make a nice fight to watch but then i see him nicking it not by much tho as Napa is so up for this one.. Davis Will NOT stop him, if not i see Napa schooling him.. IMO
