How Would Two Ton Tony Galento Fare Against These Fighters
Re: How Would Two Ton Tony Galento Fare Against These Fighters
George Foreman's self admitted shyness in regards to Quarry ought to have some sort of meaning for those of us in the cheap seats. However as always BRR knows whats best and if he says it, then let's just agree to etch it in stone and move on.

Both murderous punchers walking into each other's best. Shavers wouldn't see the end of the first rd in a fight like that in his prime, much less the very end of his career.

Wow, Tweedle Dum finally gets one right. He is absolutely correct that Shavers wouldn’t have seen the end of the first, because if Galento would have led with his face as he did throughout his entire career he would have been carried out on a stretcher.BroughtonRulesRefuge wrote:- That was both Tony and Max in the last brief blast of a glow of their dying embers.BoxBuzz wrote:Take a close look at some of Galento's work.

I guess there is hope for our addle-brain simpleton.

At that point in his career you'd think Tony would be wise enough to think about a defense.....but as BRR seems to allude...he was just so good he didn't really need a defense. I mean to watch Two Ton is basically to watch any other steam engined forward moving slugger like Dempsey or Frazier or maybe Tyson right?
You could digitally swap TTT's head for Dempsey or Frazier or Tyson's head on top of that mangling machine and even the most educated amoung us like let's say BRR, would probably never notice anything awry.

Galento is an ugly guy to watch. A tough man no doubt. Easily outclassed
by alot of guys, and out punched by just as many. He caught Louis and
his stock went up, though Louis was able to rally and punish Galento
sufficently for the embarrasment.
Why was it embarrasing, because before that moment Galento was not
the most credible of guys going around. It was only after that brief wobble
of Louis that the man's reputation became fermented.
Imagine what a Dempsey, Marciano, Frazier or...Chuvalo would do to him...

Galento Knocks down Louis
Wepner knocks down Ali (helped by a bit of clever footwork)
and in a seniors tournament Butterbean knocks down Holmes (ok more relevant might be Snipes)
Proof positive that "Sh1t Happens".
