Not really. Adamek was throwing and landing quite a few punches.Baboon wrote:Adamek pulling a Dirrell in the second. Running for the second half of the round. Probably still won the round though.

It shows Adamek can hurt a legitimate heavyweight.Baboon wrote:Golota down, then stopped. Maybe a bit early but he didnt look like he was likely to get back into it.
Good performance from Adamek. Hard to tell how much it proves though. Golota looked shot.
Yeah but Golota is so far over the hill. He got put down by Austin in the first in his last time out. I'm sure Haye would have smashed him out of there too.Asterix wrote:It shows Adamek can hurt a legitimate heavyweight.Baboon wrote:Golota down, then stopped. Golota probably shít it in the dressing room so in all honesty it shows nothing.Asterix wrote:It shows Adamek can hurt a legitimate heavyweight.Baboon wrote:Golota down, then stopped. Maybe a bit early but he didnt look like he was likely to get back into it.

yeh i agree mate. haye would ko him i think. but adamek is good.nothing special tho imobrian13 wrote:i hope we see adamek / haye at some stage because it would be a cracking fight
No doubt, but I expected Golota to put up more of an argument. Adamek did very well.whatashambles wrote:Yeah but Golota is so far over the hill. He got put down by Austin in the first in his last time out. I'm sure Haye would have smashed him out of there too.
Although Adamek looked good I hope he goes back to Cruiserweight, he didn't look big enough for a Heavy.
adamek is a great offensive fighter but he's certainly not afraid to switch off, "wait and see", before asserting himself again. did it in the jon banks fight, another guy he dispatched quite brutally.Baboon wrote:Asterix wrote:Not really. yeah maybe a bit harsh....but certainly didnt plant down like in the first.
Reckon Golota took the third. Adamek surprisingly inactive but cant see Golota keeping it up
29-27 Adamek.
don't feel too sorry for him - golota did have 40 pounds on him and a small ring so that adamek would be easier to find. golota gets yet another opportunity, another payday. his name was enough to warrant the chance to beat up a smaller man. but i would say the smaller man is - and always has been - a vastly superior boxer, in terms of skills and toughness.Old bones Ian wrote:That wasn't pleasant to watch, Golota took his lumps , but it was like a scene out of a film, when the old boxer trys once more to recapture something.
it would be awesome. they have quite similar careers ie success at cruiser, move up and batter a polish heavyweight, perhaps move back down, and eye up heavyweight title in near future...just imagine if it came vs each other. what an amazing fight it would be.brian13 wrote:i hope we see adamek / haye at some stage because it would be a cracking fight
it meant a number of things: it allowed adamek to test waters v bigger man. it got him a heavyweight ranking. it got him a good payday. it probably skyrocketed his stardom in poland (a good market given lack of opportunity in america). he was seen by huge TV audience and probably helped sell out arena. it was an alternative to defending his cruiserweight title on Internet PPV. and it allowed him to be one of the few active elite fighters in boxing today, his 3rd fight this year. and it stops him getting bored at home with his family!
