Since 2003, once, against Toney, I think.

6 times in total, I think.
1. vs Bert Cooper 1991 ("On the way down, he grabbed the top rope to stay off the canvas but it was ruled a knockdown; the first of Evander's career. He took an 8 count.")
2. vs Riddick Bowe 1992
3. vs Riddick Bowe 1995
4. vs Riddick Bowe 1995
5. vs John Ruiz 2001
6. vs James Toney 2003

The people who think Haye will win mgiht need to consider a few things.
1. Valuev lost very very clearly to Holyfield and got the decision. Haye will be the recipient of a bad decision if he doesn't beat Valuev very very clearly throughout the 12 round period. I'm talking about 9 CLEAR Haye rounds where he is bouncing the punches off Valuevs chin.

Yep, probably. I was disgraced at the Valuev victory over Holyfield. I thought Valuev had barely landed a punch. Maybe with hindsight I'd think differently; I don't know.

If Haye lasts 12, he'll have taken shots from Valuev well, as Haye is not going to be a defensive wizard in there. Can he take those shots? I'm not sure he can. Can Valuev take Hayes shots? Well, firstly, Haye won't be landing easily. He's not going to land the type of right hand he did vs Gurov, Glen Kelly and so on. He'll have to rough up Valuev, and get on the inside to do his work and give himself a chance of landing something. I just think it'll be too awkward for Haye to land anything of note, and even if he does, I favour Valuev to take everything. If Haye has a chance of getting big combinations off I would give him a shot, but I just think he'll be forced to go for single shots and will be repeatedly leaning in every time and leaving himself wide open. For these reasons I think Valuev will KO him pretty early in the fight.

Can't see David lasting 45 mins with Goliath, and he might need a slingshot to hit the Valuev chin too
.
It may have to be a perfectly delivered shot to hurt the Russian strongman, which punching UP will be a tad tricky.
Mock had him over with a temple shot, so did Barrett...was that where Mormeck hit him too?
It's definitely going to be where Valuev hits him....

Trouble is Mightywarrior I don't think even a perfectly delivered shot can get it done, remember that beautiful right hand Haye landed vs Fragomeni in , I think it was the 6th? What a peach of a shot, and Fragomeni didn't budge! Now take Fragomeni and add another neck's worth of thickness to that already durable cranium, then factor in a well proportioned 7 foot frame, and Valuev has all he needs to absorb any single shot from Haye.
Realistically, how much in the way of clean shots can Haye land before the giant gets to him? He may not even get to land one! This is a Valuev KO the more I think about it, unfortunately. I'm prepared for Hide/Vitali mark II.
The only chance for Haye in this fight is if there is that odd German tradition of a boring fighter being in the mindset of going through the motions and coasting to a dull decision win (and the crowd seemingly not caring). One of those lethargic nights that shows the home fighter as not much of a danger but enough to steal the inevitable decision. Valuev's output against Holyfield was terrible and if that same Valuev turns up Haye might be able to land continously. Having said that, Holy was showing decent head and lateral movement and of course is many times tougher than Haye, while Haye as a target is easier to find and once you've found him you can have a lot of success.

One word springs to mind "Exactly" Temple is his problem area in my book not his chin and Valuev will be hitting temple more than anywhere else.
Guess we will see soon enough

I've said from the outset, and it may seems a strange tactic given the size disparity but I think Haye needs duck beneath the jab and bang 1-2 to the body then out side door. I cannot see him landing counters over the top of a jab and if cant how the fkk does he hit the chin.
Having said all that. Chagaev got the job done.

Hayes got to hit whatever he can, arms, chest, stomach, and get in and out as quickly as possible. I think he could do it, but if it goes the full twelve I think he will struggle.

yeah easy.
so did an ancient holyfield (according to most)
both around the same size as haye.
haye is too fast and hits hard enough to make valuev think twice.
easy win. :>

I think Valuev's size is deceptive... as witnessed by the people on here that seem to act like he's some kind of destroyer because of his sheer physical presence, but gloss over the fact his last five fights have gone the distance.
He's going to struggle with Haye's speed and crucially, I think Haye can hurt him.

Maybe, but he can certainly hurt Haye too and Haye will struggle to get around his jab.
Haye will not get a decision.

I think Haye needs to use the tactics RJJ used against Ruiz.
However he needs to be able to hurt him to do this otherwise the Russian will keep on coming and eventually overwhelm Haye.

- I still see you gents still giving yourselves a major outbreak of adolescent hero worship zits over Mr. Field. Too many chocolates'll do that to soft lads.
Valuev plunked down in his easy chair at ring center, but Mr. Field was too scared to come in for a good bouncing at his knee.
Go ask DKing who he has penciled in as the winner if you want to know who wins the next WBA exhibition, not Maloney. WBA babble has changed hands at least 9x depending on how you keep count in the past 10 yrs, first starting with Ruiz/Field in 2000 and ending with Ruiz and Field in 2008.
Only thing a bigger joke than the WBA babble are the Jacks Jump Over the Babble Stick on this thread by overgrown adolescents.
