It will be good if it's a genuine competative bout, not some carefully selected match-upfor the vacant title against someone like (eg) Steffy Bull.

Degale looked superb up close, very impressive. For me he was the better of the two (just) though Gavin was very tidy....

i have still not seen either of them in the flesh, what with my car dying on the m6 on the way to liverpool...
my mates who have seen the olympians twice now have always been most impressed with Degale and speak very highly of him

Gavin looks the brighter talent to me. When they step up in class I think Degale will struggle to impress and the boo boys will be back out again.
Gavin looks ready to step up in class very soon.

Frankie is unreal!! Saville was a tough little match and would be competitive with almost anyone Frankie's weight in the country BUT against someone of Frankie's calibre he couldn't do a thing!! He was being picked apart from every angle and he just couldn't see what was coming next.. He was looking around like he was surrounded..
Frankie is a gonna be a star he really is!!! I said it from day 1, The kid is the best talent in the country..

He's almost as good as that outspoken Scouse KO artist, can't recall his name :)
Yeah Gavin looked great but for me DeGale just edged it...rapid hand speed, lot of power. He looked superb on Saturday. Would love to see him fight Groves in a year or two.
Would still plump for George though, just.....

I know mate, That scouser is a mouthy git..
Chunky is a top class fighter, I just felt Frankie was better cos the opposition he faced in Saville was better than that of which Chunky boxed.imo.

Yeah fair point mate....
Wasn't overly impressed with Webb, looked a little lackaidasical to me, not as sharp as previously. Caught his opponent with a few big shots but he was durable..

While Frankie's opponent looked like a sports network special - as in two weights smaller, he was apparently a tough boy by all accounts, and Frankie handled him with style.
You could see the other guy thinking "What the f*^$??" afterwards - he looked a future champ for sure.
And so did De Gale, a real talent, you could see the way he's picked up a few tips from the Mayweather style too, showed real poise.
Not sure how far Jim McD can take him, but he'll get him fit that's for sure. Another future champ we hope.
I think Jim McDonnell's a quality coach, personally. OK, he's not Freddie Roach, but I think he's solid. He improved Alex Arthur a lot when they were together at first.

Dunno about that mate. I was there and ALOT of people were booing, not just the band of Rogan supporters sat to my right. I think people were put off by his 'big shot' persona coming out of the Olympics, although thankfully the fans are now warming to him, it seems.

they are idiot's then. he is a nice kid. has great skills. Everybody is scared of having another fraudley harrison on our hands. don't think we will see the best of degale or gavin until they are in good fight's.gavin is pure class.

Now they have had their garbage cans, its time to step up the comp a notch or two. Only when they get in against guys who can push them will they start to come on more. Anymore fights at this level will be setbacks.
I should say i did not see Gavin's last fight, but the K0-2 tells me he was probably just another tomato can, another notch on the winning record. Fair enough, its always been the way if it for most prospects, but after 4 or 5 knock-overs, its time for the real learning process to start.

Jimmy Mac's a good trainer but I think he can wear his fighters out. He pushes and pushes them and although you obviously have to be super-fit to be a quality world-class fighter, I think he errs on the side of quantity not quality sometimes – plus, not everyone has as low a pulse-rate as Jimmy and aren't as wiry and athletic. Just an observation I've made watching his fighters over the years. Some of his training sessions are mad!
