you have to view such "fantasy' match ups in the proper context...

Cooper vs Lewis as they are/were I give the win to LL - who IS a Super-HW!
Cooper and the good ol boys are not. There really should be a S-HW division, rate them and leave them there!!!

now on a P4P match -up, (which I understand IS ON AN EVEN PLAYING FIELD, size, weight, prime, peak and so on), well then Or' Enry had both the ability, punch and savy to beat LL!

Again, I fancy Lewis to win in a similar fashion & strategy to the Tommy Morrison fight, BUT, why such a bizarre obsession with weight advantage on this board?

Did Nikolay Valuev teach us nothing?!

What good were these huge weight advantages when 6'1'' 220 Chagaev was potshotting him? Or a 210 David Haye or 215, 46 yr old Holyfield schooling him?

What did Jess Willards monstrous weight & frame to do for him against a hitter like Dempsey coming up under his long arms?

What did Foremans 60 lb weight advantage count for when he was swinging bombs at a much faster moving 205 lb Holyfield?

How about Primo Carnera's freakish weight & size over Max Baer?

Hardly think lard is an advantage, as was the case for Foreman &, to some extent, Willard.

Willard was naturally a huge heavy man though, GI

In his prime, he was not fat. Everybody seems to think only of the rusty, flabby old Willard that got stomped by Dempsey. At his best he was well conditioned, had a good jab and uppercut and decent foot movement.

I don't think Lennox had a lot of fat.

No one said he did.

Willard must of only been about 5 lbs heavier for Dempsey than he was for Jack Johnson.

Perhaps; but there was quite a difference in his conditioning between the two fights. He had been inactive for nearly 3 years prior to the Dempsey fight and he looked quite soft.

Depends which version of Lennox we're talking here. If it was the Lewis of the European level, I think its a very competitive fight, more so than his fight with Gary Mason, or Frank Bruno.

Mason had a steel chin & kept eating shots as he plodded forward, while Bruno kept his chin out of the way and kept Lennox off his game with that lamp-post jab.

I really can't see Henry Cooper with his style mirroring either fighter, I think he keeps swinging & missing with his left hook until the Lewis jab opens his face.

Or the counter right puts him to sleep.
