Sorry but Michael Bentt?? Are we actually claiming him as well? The guy who boxed his entire amateur career as an American, spoke with an American twang and fought out of New York? He didn't even claim to be a British champ himself!

My mind is boggled by the majority of your responses. Not only are you essentially saying 'yes the opponent was rubbish and the belt is bogus but its called a world title so it must mean Hide and Akinwande are ex-champs', but also some of you are even mentioning Skelton, Nelson, an ancient Bugner, and Harrison??

Do you just hate boxing?

Or do you just love alphabet paper belts being wrapped around the waists of undeserving British boxers simply because it means we can bump up the number of supposed ex-british heavyweight champions?

Knocking out Jeremy Williams, Michael Bentt and a 40 year old Tony Tucker doth not a world champion make. Sorry.

Neither does beating the inept valuev with an appalling safety first performance make much of a heavyweight champ.Who gives a damn about the belts.

Well one could argue Haye is not much of a champ. Most would agree Valuev is below either of the Klit bros. So he really didn't beat the man did he.

I'm pretty sure anybody talking about Bugner, Nelson, Skelton and Harrison's WBU/WBF credentials was being sarcastic.
