so the time has come derry mate i remember your win over stephen foster jr in the men u come out to ill be ready and boxed his head of for 12rounds (should have been stopped due to the egg on fosters head were ude smashed him up) and by round 5 you couldnt here anyone but scousers going mad the only time ive EVER heard manchester fans silenced and u did that mate, wish you nothing but the best mate from lee r gary and all the family your a decent bloke mate and the way you was with gary before the napa fight was brilliant mate take care and see you soon mate

Good luck in the future Derry - I was there at the guild hall in Preston for your debut where you stopped some russian fella with a right-hand to the body in the very first round. You looked a good prospect even back then and went on to have some cracking wins. I remember giving some people who had come to watch you directions to the guild hall (they had scouse accents :TU: ). Can't believe that was six years ago! Man time flies.....once again all the best for the future, I'm sure you will make a fine trainer. :TU:

Well done on a great career mate. I always looked forward to watching you fight after my brother came up tp spar you, he had nothing but praise for you said your a top fella. So i always kept an eye on you. I feel a gutted for you mate, then again you had a very successful career and hopefully made me a few bob and still young enough to enjoy life.
Do you think that boiling down to 9stone (I think you eithen started at 8'10) all those years cought up with you?
Also do you regret nether fighting for the british title?

i do mate altho i did beat simpson when he was chamion i couldn win the title for some crazy reason also wanted a cenral area belt aswel wanted them all thats what am in the game for , tell rock thanks for the wars we had , great sparring partner and a friend for life

What was the date of that? I must have filmed it then,.

Carney Bowman, jesus, there's name from the past. I remember chatting with him after the Dlh-Hopkins weigh-in and he was a nice kid. He won on the undercard of that show and impressed but never seemed to get a major fight, as yet anyway.

derry in my oponion you should take 18 months out and come back you been in the game for ages just have a rest spend time with your family and recharge the batteries, it would be a shame for you knock it on the head but your health and family comes first... all the best mate. :TU:

I cant be two faced and say I liked all you did. Without a doubt you had a great career both in the ams and the pro ranks and I respect you for that. I just didnt like the reasons you became known as Dirty Derry for and had it printed on your shorts. You have been in some very good bouts, and I have enjoyed watching you.
