I watched the fight with interest, having seen all of Larry's televised bouts so far and I thought there was clear improvement on show.

As we all know, earlier this year Larry ran out of gas against a durable journeyman and lost a decision over six rounds. Last night, he dominated a durable journeyman over six rounds and won a clear decision. That is a mark of the improvement in Larry. With improved fitness and experience he's well on the way to becoming hard to beat.

Well done Larry its a positive end to 2009. Onwards and upwards :TU:

thank you so much u guys for the positive comments and the constructive criticism. it is really appreciated. i really appreciate the help coc, DG, and BIGMARK have given me. As you can see from the fight i was trying new things and also showed i have stamina. The footwork will improve as my defense and stamina has and will continue to improve god willing.

FUNSO BANJO I am really surprised with ur comments sometimes because as u were a former pro and so would have thought u would b forthcoming with advice instead of the childish comments u make about me and other up and coming guys

Larry ignore the haters and trolls - you are learning on the game under the spotlight and are coming on fight by fight.

As for the clown who posts under the name Funso Banjo, it aint the former pro - I very much doubt that pratt could box eggs never mind anything else!

Keep working hard in the gym and you will get where you are looking to go. :TU:

Top man, got a big compliment from my old man "given his experience I would say he's more naturally talented than Bruno - for a seven fight novice he aint bad".

Take all the positives AND negatives (and sorry if you found my comments a bit to negative, I was trying to be constructive) and use them all. Use the negatives as motivation.

it will all "click" in time, you've got the attitude and desire and that a damn lot of it.

Why do people tend to slag boxers off!!! Not every fighter is going to be World/European or even British class.Larry is in there learning and doing something he loves and getting a few quid aswell.

If Larry was mouthing off that he will become the next big thing then i could understand if people were to slag him off.Larry seems to a down to earth bloke who knows that his still an novice with no amateur experience.

I have seen him boxed a few times and to me,if he gets his footwork sorted out,he could do something on the British scene. He can hit hard and once his footwork is sorted,he will hit even harder.

I would love to be as fit as him, walking through those ropes with nice flashy shorts on and the MC calling my name out,Joe public and Sky TV watching me boxed.

He aint doing anything wrong SO why the need to slag him off.

Larry did as good a job as Price and Burton have done on that opponent.
And Price has had loads of amateur experience as well. So it wasn't a bad performance against a guy who makes for a frustrating night.

I've seen in other fights that Larry has the power to do alot of damage, it seems that when he's Ko'd guys its when the shots have flowed, rather than trying to think them out to much.

Keep it up Larry, you have alot of supporters on this forum.
And when you do get an interview on TV give us boxrec anoraks a shout :TU:

Well said Old Bones!

That is the bottom line, to deal with this opponent in equal or better fashion than more accomplished fighters ( amateur credentials ) is good form.

i'll take the comments on board.

its a tough business

i dont have a problem with Larry O

i have a problem with the people who post nonsense in order to hype boxers up

let larry do his thing...and if he starts to make a dent in the domestic scene ...i'll be the first to sing his praises, whether its for skill..personality..or heart.

as for the gym talk and all the other rubbish....leave it ...fists do the fighting...nothing else.

i wish Larry a big 2010 :box:

there you go obfuscating and drawing attention away from the fact:

Larry has fought one brit and the rest are bald 5ft8 pot bellied Russians

this is no kind of test

there are more than enough brits to offer a test

face facts

Funso you plonker, Dave Ingleby was brought up in response to your demand 'Lets see Larry fight a British heavyweight!' the fact is that when he did he demolished Ingleby in impressive fashion. I am not claiming Larry to be the next Ali but your summary dismissal of his prospects due to an early career loss make you look clueless. You are one of those weird boxing fans who only watch heavyweight boxing. Why dont you try watching some boxing from the 16 other divisions on offer - it may help lessen your obvious frustrations with the game!

Larry - a great phrase for you to use as your mantra is this - and it is used by the infmaous Australian
standover man Chopper Read and it is this...

When people would slag him off - Read would always say

Name me five of Beethovens critics

No-one remembers Beethoven's critics, did he have his critics though? Of course but it didn't stop Beethoven making great music that is remembered and played over 200 years later - the words of the critic die and are fogotten very quickly whereas your boxing record and your contribution to the sport will last forever, your great great grandchildren will be to come on here and look at your record and be proud that one of their ancestors was a prizefighter.

The beatles were told that they would never amount to anything and were rejected by Decca (I think it was) where is the Decca label now? It does not exist whereas the music of the beatles will last forever. Everyone who strives has critics but the best thing to do is do what you are going to do anyway and move forward and thats what you are doing everytime you win a fight.
