last time i remember looking at one there were all the signs of it being written on the hoof as it were, the odd spelling mistake and what have you... fact is that it is updated between rounds so they must do it ringside or at least with a telly next to them, at the end of the day I dont know much about that side of things.

I'm not familiar with any of them to be honest. I only really check out EastSideBoxing, the nationals and a few forums.
As far as their general boxing coverage goes the BBC do only focus on the major names on the sport and British fighters. I was very surprised to see a report on Bute/Andrade. 1-2 pieces go up in the boxing section a week and then it's suddenly flavour of the month when the likes of Haye are fighting. Very frustrating but it'll always be the case while they don't broadcast it.

They don't exactly throw the kitchen sink at the BBC boxing section but I suppose that apathy is a reflection of the interest it gets by the general BBC sports page reader.
If it got more hits then I'm sure they might delve into the sport a bit deeper whether a few online 'bloggers' (as the beeb like to call anyone with an online opinion/writer) can do better or not. TBH I rarely even bother looking on there anymore it barely skims the surface of the sport.

Their 606 boxing forum seems to get a lot of traffic but for some reason I rarely go there.

Lot of WUMs, but some really knowledgeable posters, and more in-depth discussion than I've seen elsewhere, sadly those posters are the minority. Still a lot of threads worth checking out, and a shame it's closing.
The BBC have cut online funding, and the boxing page has never been the best updated. They have to write about all sports, and boxing has never been a priority. There are plenty of other places to look for boxing news though.

Wind Up Merchant. You are lucky to not get many in the British section. People who post purely to get a reaction or bash a certain boxer etc.
Yep, due to the cuts to their online spending it's closing in May after the current football season.

Yeah, the BBC 606 message boards are closing down which is a great shame but I wouldn't be surprised to see them back in some form, as they closed the old boxing boards on there a few years back only to reinvent them.
Use to really enjoy the BBC in the old days and still pop on 606 now and again.

They take the piss IMO and amount of updates on boxing site is a joke. But boxing isn't the only sport they cover. To be honest though, with resources at the disposal, BBC website is pretty piss-poor all round when it comes to regular updating and being on the money.
