I went out there a few years ago, we had a promotion with Justin Juuko defending his WBC international belt against a russian, I was there a week!, along with Boza Edwards, we stayed up in the hills at a newly built hotel, after 3 days I got sun stroke, then I got the food poisoning with the runs!!!
I had to only film the 1 fight!!, I was in the changing room at the football stadium while it was being invaded by locals, tear gas going off, the military and police were involved!!, it was hilarious, but I was so ill with the food poisoning, laying on a couch in the changing room, when an entourage came in and a guy looked at me and said who is that man, and whats wrong with him, MC John McDonald said, 'thats Eric, he is gonna film the main event, but he has sun stroke and stomach pains', I looked up, and in my haze said, 'who the fck are you?' he replied, 'I am the president of Uganda!!!' I moaned ' I am fcking dying!!!!!' he laughed and said, 'I hope you get better and enjoy the fight',.....
it is funny now, but not at the time!!!!
lucky we flew out the next night.........

actually I was on a course last year with a retired fella and he went out there Gorilla watching of all things. I thought I'd never heard of anybody going there but in actual fact I have.

Why the the hell you go to watch 2 old men fight though I don't know.
"Don't go out after dark" is fairly common, catch-all advice for Third World countries, but in 99% of the time it's OK. I've been to several places where that was the official advice, but so long as 1) you don't show off material wealth 2) don't look obviously like a fresh-off-the-plane tourist, and 3) don't get insensibly drunk, you should be fine.

you have to contact the consulate if someone you are with dies, in order to get them back to the UK,,, does not mean that they were murdered.

Also note that more Brits were arrested than hospitalised, which I think says more about our people than Uganda's!

The President of Uganda's niece and nephew write to me all the time, I thought he'd died in an Air-Crash in 2006? Him and the Foriegn and Business Minister of Bukino Faso were on the same plane, his secretary is on to me every other week too.

Me too. Small world.

I have invested quite heavily in diamond mines, but I don't get the return until 2020.

Something to look forward to.

And if I'm not doing that, I'm looking for more girth with which to drive her indoors wild this evening. And its true, you too can make $500,000 a minute just using google.
