apparently marquez is expected to vacate the wbo title in the next 2 weeks. which will mean mitchell vs katsidis is definitely gonna happen in february. mitchell is a better all round fighter then katsidis. he can have a tear up and can box. if he beats katsidis like i think he will...a 1st defence of his title at upton park next summer against john murray :OhYes: :OhYes:

If Kevin Mitchell takes on Micheal Katsidis in Febuary, it will be a cracker, really will be something!! With Mitchell able to mix boxing (like win v Presscott) and brawling i really think this fight would be one of the fights of the year!! Micheal Katsidis on the other hand is a proven brawler who will bring a totally different fight to what Presscott did..I really hope this fight does materalise because it will be brilliant...

No, I'm sure its Danny Williams top of the bill
Its Kev's show .........

...........and Danny Williams swan song

Nicky Cook would do well to avoid Mitchell............Bad blood or good, he has nowhere
near enough for him and never has had, and that's in every department :shame:

I like Cook but i think he has reached his level and a fight with Mitchell would break his heart and probably retire him :witzend:

Incidentally i also think grab monster Ricky ....The Octopus....Burns dodged a bullet when Mitchell stepped up :box:

Kadsidis would get Mitchell attention.
Good style matchup for Mitchell.

Why is there not enough time for a training camp ?

knowing jimmy tibbs he would want to make sure kev is more than prepared for a fight with katsidis as its the biggest fight of his career so theres no way hes gonna let him fight m.k. after only 5 weeks training comin off the back of xmas.

heard both nicky cook and alex arthur turned down a fight with kev
anyone heard who hes gonna fight yet?

Be a great fight, but five weeks would be too short notice for the fighters, and also what if Katsidis decideds to go to purse bids.

I reckon we will see Mitchell against a half decent American or Mexican and then Katsidis.

If he beats Katsidis then Murray in the first defence would be a great advert for British boxing.

Cook would also be interesting because there could be obvious bad blood now

And if u want me to keep going his first 13 fights the guys he fought Bar Medrano had only win 11 fights between them.. and you where impressed.
So Khan is a very poor World Champ then isn't he, After all, Mitchell didn't allow Prescott to do what he did to Khan. Mitchell boxed brilliantly to 'prove' he's not a hyped up machine....Showed he can box and under control, showed good defence with it aswell. That to me and I'm sure many shows that he's not just a 'hyped up machine'
That performance wasn't exactly a surprise from Kevin. Been watching him since he was a ripping it up in the juniors and always knew he could box and wasn't a simple come forward brawler.
He is a good alround fighter but the Prescott fight didn't really tell me anything new. Prescott is crude and simply hit the jackpot against Amir.
Check out Prescott's previous loss, he looked bloody awful in that fight too.

I rate Kevin just don't think he will go as far as some. I remember people telling me he was going to be 3 weight world champion back when he was 15/16!

Katsidis would be a great fight potentially but I think the Oz would have too much for Kevin.

I heard that Alex Arthur declined the invitation but not heard anything about Cookie saying no. If there is this bad blood and with Cookie being inactive for so long why would he turn it down. Surely he's been back in the gym training since Martinez beat him

Yes, wasn't a surprise to you or myself but it was to those who claimed Mitchell was just a brawler and everyone I spoke to regarding the fight wasn't at all confident that Mitchell would win, with a few saying he'd get ko'd let alone completely outboxing him. In a 12 round fight Mitchell certainly would have tasted Prescotts power...And he stood up to it where many didn't believe he could (thats not including you or me!).
I believe he can become World Champion, for those who said he'd be a 3 weight Champion when he was 15/16 of course you wouldn't take it seriously as a lot can happen between that age and the age he is now and even some boxing greats wasn't a 3 weight World Champion for the simple fact that they didn't grow into the weights even if they had the ability to be. Mitchell should have been moved along quicker than what he has, maybe if Fwank did move him up sooner he might have a title under his belt already and going for this one. Look at Khan, if he gives up his 'World' title Fwank will no doubt get him in a position to fight for another one so there you go, that will be the 2nd title he challengers for so it is possible to get 3 if your moved in the right direction, but of course thats where the politics come in as there are and have been plenty of fighters good enough to be World Champion but are never even given the chance to fight for it once.

Arthur and Limond both offered it but turned it down, shame because they are decent enough.
