The Tua fight especially, i thought Ruiz was dead.

Apparently Tua is targetting titles next year according to his promoter.
This is the fight that changed Ruiz from a mobile, relatively exciting boxer-puncher, to the hugging machine he is today! So although it's fun to go back and watch him get splattered after every snooze fest he is in, I wish it had never happened!

I really hate that a bunch of youtube idiots know Simon Brown, a terrific champion, as 'the boxer who kept punching on the floor'. Really don't like to see this.

Dean Hickman knocking out Tom Hogan at Dudley Town Hall was the worst I've ever seen live. Everyone there went cold for a second upon seeing that.

God knows how you can put Amir Khan in this list Gomez. Does your bias have no limits

Anyways

Jackson v Graham
Brook v Lawrence
Bodysnatcher v Curry
Lewus v Rahman (both fights)

Although it wasnt brutal, the beauty of the punch needs to be mentionned

Robinson v Fulmer 2

Kenny Vice?

Was savage that one.
I had the dubious privilege of being at the Albert Hall that night. McDonnell was coming back after his superb performance against Azumah Nelson, and Vice was supposed to be an easy night's work. McDonnell was trying to show who was boss and was forcing the fight. I had a view of his back as Vice threw a left hook from a tight guard. I was quite a few rows back, but the impact of the punch on McDonnell's jaw was loud, and it instantly switched his lights off. It was honestly like he'd been picked off by a sniper hiding in the audience. He collapsed, his leg went into spasm and a pool of blood formed on the canvas around his head. I think many of us thought we'd just watched someone get killed right in front of us. Vice was very upset. McDonnell made a full recovery but unsurprisingly, the board of control were not inclined to renew his license. When I saw the knockout later on TV, it didn't look nearly so frightening.

:oo that sounds bad really bad. When I saw it, it is easily worse than the other that have been put up her by a long way.

Mike McCallum beheading Donald Curry with the best left hook i've ever seen gets my vote...poetry in motion.

Should be fairly easy to find, because it was on the same card as Eubank v Dos Santos. I've got it on VHS somewhere, but it would take me a month of Sundays to find it and then get it transferred etc :(

Dominic Guinn vs. Michael Grant - that punch would have felled an elephant!

Was Mark Hobson vs. Tony Moran a bad one? Seem to recall Moran out for a while and lots of worried faces and his girlfriend giving Hobson a slap.

Danny McIntosh vs. Rod Anderton was a superb punch and quite a brutal KO, one of the best of 2009 IMO.

It was a cracking punch but it doesn't belong on this 'bad' list because Curry was somehow getting to his feet and the ref waved it off

Carl Thompson versus Sebastian Rothmann well wasn't that bad but a heck of right-hand and a heck of a comeback! I remember Hobson hitting his heart to someone in the audience after that one - indicating what heart Thompson had. Incidently, Rothmann knocking out Crawford Ashley was a pretty bad knockout.

That was a hell of a fight. In fact 'second tier heavyweight dust ups' deserves its own thread. Moorer - Bert Cooper would be right up there

Roy Jones vs Art Serwano is nasty... Jones lands a looping right and Serwano's ankle buckles under him as he keels over backwards and the camera pans on his face and his eyes are bulging out like he's dead. It's hideous.

There's one that I've never been able to make out who the fighters are but think it's at cruiser or heavy and this guy lands this mahooosive left hook and his opponent's gumshield/spit/teeth seem to shoot up in the air and it's like 'tiiiimbbberr as he falls to the floor' (similar to Spoon vs Eklund'.
