I've been to some awful pro shows, where security and general event managment was lacking. I can't see how an unlicenced show would be any worse.

That said, qualiy of unlicencsed shows must vary massivley.

I had a few "unlicensed" fights a couple of years ago and it was a complete culture shock from Amateur Boxing. To be honest the fights were ok, apart from getting used to the obvious (no headguards ect) the only thing I didn't like was the fella convincing me it's better to get punched for money rather than being punched for a plastic trophy, that felt a bit seedy as I was used to sportsmanship and all that comes with amateur trainers/clubs. I was only 17 and had enough of the Amateurs.

Since then the fellas now Promoting professionals, in manchester sort of wish I had a few more fights with him as it was my dream to turn pro.

thats the real Michael Gomez, none of that niteclub stuff. The ref should never have left Arthur carry on after the second knockdown.

That was electrifying, Gomez should not fight in the pile of sh!t un-licensed circuit.

chances are though, that he could earn more unlicensed than he could as a pro at that stage of his career . in fact id say he CERTAINLY could earn more unlicensed .
