That would free up the May 1st date for Mayweather Mosley :TU:

I don't want to see him lose, but I don't want to see the last vision of him being on the canvas. He's an intelligent man, I'm sure he can assess if he still has it.
yeah agreed.

a test the waters fight.

someone like nate campbell or ricardo torres would make sense.

looks like he wants a name though. :box:
I was actually thinking a level or two below that to be honest. I think Torres especially could be as dangerous as the 38? year old Marquez.

I was thinking more on the lines of Gavin Rees, Colin Lynes or at "world" level like a Casamayor or Edner Cherry.

Like he did with Lazcano.

Lets not forget Campbell never lost his #1 Lightweight status in the ring and is officially "undefeated" since he moved up. Really Bradley should clear that up before moving on.... but I would think that would be acceptable and Hatton really shouldn't lose.

I don't really like these 1 fight and out notion. They rarely do transpire to actually work, and its not a good mind set to have. I'd like Hatton to be thinking of getting back in the mix, not just a swansong.

Ricky is still the 2nd or 3rd best Light Welter out there and if he comes back at that weight then a good way to go out would be against Bradley which would be a winnable fight imo although probably a tune-up would be best first against someone like Nate Campbell or Juan Diaz just to see whether he's still got it or not.

I think Diaz has abandoned the light welterweight division to concentrate on being a Lightweight where he should be :TU:

Diaz should be a Super Featherweight... I'm sure enough money would could persuade him to fight Ricky.

looking forward to hatton returning , he has been beaten by 2 outstanding pound for pound fighters in pacman and mayweather - no disgrace

i dont think hatton is shot , so im looking forward to see how much he has left.

marquez would be excellent fight , a really tough one though , if hatton won id like to see all the press and fans come out and say what they have been saying about hatton getting hurt etc.

as ive mentioned before on here......there was no outcry for retirement when.............

lennox lewis was knocked out twice by 2 terrible heavyweight champions

lets see what hatton has left before jumping to conclusions , 1 more fight will tell us that.

it would be very risky for his career. He needs to settle down a bit and get a few victories under his belt and fighting Hatton certainly doesn't guarantee that. I like Diaz, he is still young and can do something at 135 and I wouldn't like to see him take a risk against Hatton.

Intresting statment from on on Sky sports web that "it took a lot less of a fighter to knock me out in the latter stages of my training" suggesting he got sparked in sparring maybe

Never heard that one till now

i hope he comes back and shines , he beat Malagnaggi Easily and hes went on to look good in his next fights.

Really? I don't think anyone really cares about that fight anymore, especailly since he lost Alexander and Bradley.

A warm up against a name, then a huge fight (in terms of £££) with Khan, then Khan signs with Hatton.

Already know the background pal!!! :TU:

But Poxon works for Hatton Promotions - Hatton will want to get a trainer I presume relatively on the cheap and one who will do as he is told.

well i see your point, if its cost and a trainer that will do as he's told then ricky would be better off going back into retirement dont you think, he needs a trainer who will keep on him and control things at whatever cost, freddie roach seems to be in control of his fighters liek when he told manny he was leaving the philipines , manny agreed and followed??

Hatton would beat both JMM and Urango at Jr Welterweight, well he already has beaten Urango and JMM although being a fantastic boxer will be out gunned by hatton. I think Bradley would get spanked too, but i think khan will do him first.

I think hatton is doing the right thing he can beat alot of the world title holders, he can fight one then judge his peformance and see if he's got one more fight in him after that and step up again.

If he wins his next fight i guarantee PBF will want the rematch purely because of the purse size.

I respect freddy roach but for him to say hatton was never that good is just bollocks.

Hello Jane!!!

I really do not think we are talking necessarily about the quality of the trainer!!! - this one is all about money - it shouldnt be - but it will happen that way!!

At 140 lbs I'm pretty sure Marquez would beat Hatton, by (T)KO.
