Its funny that although Baker is facing fighters well below the level that Duddy does that you dont seem to hear the same ignorant hate towards him.
barker is a class above duddy. he would school him then ko him mid-late rounds.
who was duddy fighting in his 20th fight? matter a fact who is duddy fighting in his 30th fight? an absolute bum in a 8 rounder  i would like to see duddy fight barker macklin or jamie moore. he would get eaten by all of em
OK, lets look at this logically - Duddy has been battered during periods of fights and never showed any signs of wobbling or wilting but you think a fighter who has just come off the back of wins against - Danny Butler, Jason McKay and Greg barton is going to lay him out.

I think this thread needs a little perspective.

I don't think he is a class above him. Barker is a good boxer but nowhere near a brillant one which would be the same as Duddy, I doubt it very much if he could KO Duddy. Smichet had Duddys chin on a platter for 5/6 rounds and he couldn't knock him down let alone KO him and Smichet can bang even if he is a journeyman.

Who was Duddy fighting in his 20th fight? Think it was around the time he fought former European champ and former World title contender Howard Eastman wasn't it? Who was Barker fighting in his 20th fight - Darren McDermott or Butler? No disrespect to either of them but I think an 'old' Eastman is still a much tougher opponent.

It's hard not to like Duddy in my opinion - he is a good guy, an exciting boxer/brawler - he knows himself he is not a world beater but he would like to give it a lash. He doesn't walk around claiming he is going to KO Pavlik or Sturm, he justs wants an opportunity to fight them.

Ssssshhh!!! thats too much logic and sense and not enough cliched moronic Duddy bashing. Just say that he is a hype job even though you havent seen any of his fights and that will pass as debate here.

Mindless!

Duddy is an overhyped boxer - he is the black guy with bleached dreadlocks right?

Funny people werent saying he was shot before the fight! and he certainly didnt look shot during the fight.

Not sure they take it personal, he it certainly seems strange to them and there is such an anti-Duddy bandwagon because its undeserved and comes across as ignorant and baseless.

Like I've said, ITV and other on here are usually tossing themselves off over Baker yet he is fighting absolute dross.

Maybe its because Duddy is filling the MSG and Barker is chipping about the Brentwood Centre!

After all Duddy has gone through with the McLoughlin brother I dont think the Brits give him a fair shot at all.

Look pal, it has nothing to do with me being Irish and I'm certainly not taking anything personal, I don't have a clue where you got that from. I like Duddy as a fighter and as a person - the same as Micky Ward is one of my favourite fighters - not because of his skills or lack of but because of his heart and his willingness to come out and fight.

I'm just offering my opinion on Barker and Duddy where you implied that Barker was a class above Duddy and I disagreed - it's not just because I'm Irish. 23rd Fight was it - some difference. A 'shot' Eastman as you called him is still a better quality fighter and a tougher fight than Darren McDermott and Danny Butler. I'll put it this way - Duddy was more or less the same age as Barker is now when he fought Eastman.

I just don't see what people see in Barker that makes him so 'special' especially when he hasn't fought anyone of much ability - no disrespect intended. When Barker loses that 0 on his record his 'fans' will quickly lose interest in him. In case you throw it back at me - I don't consider Duddy as 'special' or a dead cert World Champ, sure I would like to see him get a chance but it's not going to make me think any more or less of him whether he wins or loses.

Can I ask you why you don't like Duddy and why you think Barker is in a different class? :TU:

I think you will find that he sold out the Garden when he fought Yorey Boy Campos and Tony Bonsante where he also headlined. These are just two I can think of but I'm sure there are more. Why do you think Arum is so eager to get him on the MSG cards - simple reason- he sells tickets.

The Irish - Americans and Irish immigrants love Duddy and they go to see him, he headlined the bill when he fought Bonsante and that sold out . Him and Cotto are the only people who can sell out MSG and thats why Top Rank have him on their MSG shows when Cotto is not fighting. Also a decent enough card aswell is to give people value for their tickets aswell.

If Duddy and Lyell were in the ring last night I would have laid money on Duddy winning.

You seem to forget or purposefully ignore that Duddy was being passed around trainers like a Romanian orphan who tried to make him something he wasnt.

Now he is back to his original trainer and he have quickly seen the results.

In Duddy's defense it wasnt a good time for him, what with the lawsuit, new trainer and style.

They were trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ears - thats not who Duddy is. and it was a split decision as well.
